My wife and I have been attending classes at The Dance Workshop in Moseley since January 2019. We started a Ballroom & Latin Beginners Class and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of beginning to pick up the basics of a number of dances. The somewhat surprising arrival of Covid in 2020 threatened to curtail our dance careers prematurely, like a Week 2 Rhumba in 'Strictly'! until our patient and valiant tutor Sylvia took to Zoom classes to help keep us sane and fit during the various periods of lockdown! Once we were able to return to the studio we spent some time in Salsa classes, until reverting back to Ballroom and Latin with Rita, which is where we are at now. We have possibly been very lucky in that the classes we have done have been with like-minded people who have become firm friends, so dance has not only extended us personally but has also broadened our social circle! We have also attended a number of 'masterclass' lessons, such as Argentine Tango, by expert, external tutors, which Rita, the owner of The Dance Workshop, arranges from time-to-time. We look forward every week to our class and have found our dance experience to be a fun and joyous one! Give it a try! - I can't recommend The Dance Workshop highly enough!
My right leg was reconstructed to fix multiple leg & knee fractures & my surgeon advised that I would never kneel again. However, my rheumatologist recommended Pilates & my journey with Rita Parker began. Rita's Pilates classes have widened my knowledge of how my body functions as a whole & in isolation, hence my leg function is greatly improved. Rita has an precise, encyclopedic knowledge of the anatomy, the muscle groups and how they perform, so I have a better understanding of my body & this has a beneficial effect on my mental health. If you want physical well being, if you want a trusted tutor with decades of experience, if you want excellence delivered in a welcoming environment & if you want to do the best for yourself then join Rita's Pilates class.
I have been attending Pilates classes at the Dance Workshop for several years now. It's great exercise for keeping you mobile and flexible and Rita and Joelle are both excellent teachers. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and informal, and you can take classes at all levels. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
I have been attending The Dance Workshop for adult ballroom / Latin dance classes for several years now. Rita and co have all been extremely friendly, and I never fail to have a good time! I attend the classes alone, so it’s not essential to bring a partner, and the classes are extremely reasonably priced!
Amazing!! My daughter and myself went for our first salsa class Sylvia made us feel very at ease and comfortable. She was so patient and went through every step diligently I've got the bug for salsa now and will definitely be coming back!!!
Is very good and help kids get creative with costumes there is olso a studio to practice but is too light and too much people watching you while you rehearse
Rita is an excellent Pilates teacher, and I really value going to her classes. She really gets to know what you can do, what more you are cable off, and she coaches you to achieve your best. I highly recommend! Bernie
Attended salsa and bachata lessons for a while. Sorry to say the teaching quality is very low. The teachers often confuse the moves they are trying to teach. In addition to that they have no plans for teaching and jump from one move to another each week without really trying to reinforce what they taught previous weeks. So in short, going to this place to learn dancing, is a waste of time and money.
I have being taking adult ballet classes at The Dance Workshop for 4 years now, and I have gone from having never danced before in my life to just about to pass my grade 5 examinations! I attend twice a week and love it!
I have attended Pilates classes for many years and appreciate Rita’s skill, enthusiasm and patience especially now I am getting older. Thank you Rita. Jeff.
