I would call it very twee, chintzy and flowery. Beds clean, food delicious. Staff very friendly. Only complaint bring disabled I would have liked a grab bar in the shower along with a shelf to hold the soap as its difficult to bend to the floor with no rail to hold on to. Other than that very enjoyable.

Worst hotel ive stayed in, and i stay in a different one every week with work. Waiting outside to be let in 2 times in four days. Place is stuck in the 60's. Expensive for what is on offer. Shower was poor and genrally dirty in the room!

Excellent food! Lovely, helpful and friendly staff but, not enough of them. Rooms are everything you need and expect from a 3 star rated hotel. It's in a great location for anyone wanting to explore the Cumbrian area. All-in-all we had a very pleasant stay and, if ever we wanted to visit the area again, we would definitely consider using the Cumberland.
