The crown is s classic English pub that ticks all the boxes of a traditional pub experience. It’s got a real traditional atmosphere including old Low hanging oak beams for tall people to knock their head on, a fireplace to warm you up (only in winter), old memorabilia glorifying days gone by and a warm welcome that greets you. The food is good quality, a little on the pricey side, but it’s generally worth it as it’s great quality. We had a simple lunch of potato and vegetable soup, and an open faced sandwich, topped with good quality meat and a nice homemade radish. The beer selection has the usual more well known brands as well as a few local ales and some brewed especially for the pub. Overall we had a great lunch and it’s an experience that I always enjoy stopping in for whenever I’m in the neighbourhood.

Way overpriced. I had burger and chips and to be honest I have had a lot better for a lot less, the brioche bun was massive in comparison to the tiny burger and the chips were average. Staff were all friendly and the building is beautiful but probably wouldn't go back for food as it is nothing special.

Just had lunch here. Good selection of pub lunches available. Tasted great and well presented and served by the staff who are very attentive. If you are not familiar with the pub and you are tall, be prepared to duck down frequently, as those low ceiling beams will catch you out. Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

I have to say that I enjoyed every part of going here. The food was excellent, a good selection of beer and wine, the service was fast and pleasant. If had to say a couple of negative things it would be that to get to the toilet you have to go outside due to it being an old building, and that you are paying a more for the quality of food. But both of these things are worth it in my opinion.
