Stopped for a drink en route during our travels up north and loved this pub. Picturesque location, friendly staff and friendly locals, toilets are clean, perfect for a quiet drink by the canal and a little stroll back and forth with the dog. Didn't eat so can't rate the food but what others had looked good!

Typical English pub w comfort food, no new age pub grub w hoisin sauce n wasabe dressing.  Steak n kidney pie was yummy.  Dessert sponge w treacle was excellent n trifle too.

Great pub with Great food promptly served by friendly and welcoming staff. Being next to the canal, it's an excellent place to moor up after a day's cruising. It also has a large car park with ample parking. Highly recommended

Popped in for some food but unfortunately missed the last orders as we didn’t arrive till late. But still had a drink. Landlady was very welcoming and recommended other places to eat. Lovely pub. Would definitely return if we’re in the area again

Very friendly and helpful when we went in to enquire. They don’t always do food mostly baps etc so best to enquire. A lovely comfortable atmosphere.
