Visited The Crofter twice on our stay in Fort William and wisely chose to eat here on both occasions. First day it was full and we had to leave it 30 minutes before going back for a table which I took as a good sign. It has that warm welcome pub style about it. The landlady/ manager was friendly and helpful but authoritative when a local used a few swears to greet a friend... she soon quietened him down and he gave her due respect... Nice to see. The service was friendly and efficient, the menu perfect in size with the addition of specials shown clearly on a nearby board. The food was fantastic... some of the usual pub classics with variations of local ingredients sprinkled in for good measure. The haggis bites starter were amazing. Had to give the Haggis, neeps and tatties main a try here and glad I did... Great value home cooked wholesome food The place transforms at weekend nights as a place to be for the younger locals... very lively. Overall a great venue that manages to give something for everyone, young, old and all those in-between Highly recommend if ever you find yourself in Fort William.
Not going to lie, this place doesn't look like much. Just a typical pub. However, it has a very reasonably priced and delicious menu. We went twice because we were so impressed. It has some of the best puddings we've had in a while and they were huge. I ordered a steak cooked rare and they didn't disappoint. Would definitely come back here. The staff were also really nice
Great food, from starter to dessert. The mac cheese I had is the best one I have ever had, husband cleaned whole plate of haggis without hesitation even our fussy eater daughter can't have enough of the Thai bites. If we live nearby, will probably come everyday
A free table during dinner time at a good Fort William restaurant is a rarity. If you intend to come here, get here early or reserve a table! We tried this place 3 different days and only got a table on the 3rd try at 5:15pm. Overall a solid meal to finish off a long day of cycling around Fort William. Enjoyed the 10oz steak with peppercorn sauce, chips, and onion rings. Service was good and fast. Only let downs were 1 the chips, which tasted a bit bland 2 slightly pricey at ~20GBP for the meal - no drinks ordered
The staff are very friendly, the food is amazing! Steak was cooked to perfection and the venison burger was delicious, the Highland ale finished off a great lunch! Lovely dog friendly pub. Would definitely recommend!
A really good drinking pub, the busiest pub in Fort William! I think this is a fantastic pub for a drink and to rub shoulders with the locals. We came for the food though. Unfortunately it was terrible sirloin steak was poor quality, chips were terrible ! and the haggis main portion was very small. I ordered a side of vegetables mash, turnip mash and frozen carrot/peas which was also terrible. It was also super noisy for a dining experience. Come for drinks, avoid the food.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Carbonara pasta texture can be cooked firmer but the sauce was made well. Overall all our food were very delicious.
It's really nice place with awesome service, we came with our dog and we were welcomed. I ate the Cajun chicken burger and it was amazing if you like a spicy burger. My partner had the toasted wrap and she enjoyed it very much.for dessert we choose the Crannachan cheesecake . An experience that I would recommend to everyone ;
Amazing place. Looking for somewhere family friendly and wallet friendly. This is the place. Varied menu. All cooked fresh and well. We really enjoyed this meal.
Very friendly and welcoming bar staff who took time to chat. Sport on TV . The bar went from quiet to having no tables available within 10 minutes. Pity I'd eaten breakfast as food looked amazing
