We stayed at The Craven Heifer on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day night and also had Christmas Day dinner — and everything was absolutely faultless.nnThe family suite was perfect: spotlessly clean, warm, quiet and very comfortable. I slept extremely well. The bathroom was excellent, with a powerful, easy-to-use shower, and the festive touches were lovely — Prosecco on arrival and even a novelty Christmas rubber duck.nnChristmas dinner was superb and well worth the money, with Buck’s Fizz on arrival which made it feel really special. Breakfast was faultless and delicious too.nnA peaceful, welcoming and thoroughly enjoyable Christmas stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend.
Having been a regular diner before the brewery takeover i was keen to try the food. I will say with some trepidation as ive seen what happened to the menu at the Tempest and my food was disappointing there. Myself amd my partner ordered medium steaks and they both came out well done. We sent them both back and they then returned bordering more on rare, most of the steaks were actually bloody and I wouldn't eat it like that but not wanting to complain for a 2nd time we both decided to eat them. I didn't finish mine as it just got moreand more bloody. My partner wasn't happy with this either. If not for that detail my rating would have been higher. At a cost of £30/ sirloin you expect better.nI will say this however, the place is stunning, a lovely decor and ambience. The staff are impeccable and extremely accommodating.nAnother couple approached us after we had finished eating a sat close by and they had also had a bad meal. I do hope this isnt going to be another place that has tarnished its reputation going forward after years prior of excellence. The brewery needs to remedy this food situation as I forsee the place losing good custom and loyal ones at that.nI will return at some point as I do really like the place and always have.nOur waitress Diana deserves a mention,.lovely helpful lady.
Another lovely stay at the Craven Heifer. We regularly stay here when visiting family in the area and have always had great stays with friendly, warm welcomes.nThe rooms are modern and tastefully decorated. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided and toiletries in the bathroom, with soft white bathrobes adding a touch of luxury to your stay.nGreat breakfast is included in the booking price. The restaurant has just been attractively refurbished. Great deals are offered on rooms and foodie evenings during the week.nOverall, a great place to stay and handy for the Dales and market town of Skipton.
We had a good overnight stay at The Craven Heifer at Kelbrook. Good food at both dinner and breakfast, with a wide variety of choices. The food was well prepared, cooked and presented. Staff were friendly and professional.nOur room, in The Barn, a separate building at the back of the main building, was very well prepared, very clean, with a very comfortable bed. The room had all the facilities a guest may need during their stay. The shower room was of a very high quality too.
Hotel is new and everything is lovely and so well-designed. Room and amenities fabulous as is the location. Best food we've had in ages and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. A real find and we'll be back!
