My 1st visit and couldn't have been happier. Every member of staff exemplary and good selection of beers.nI was most pleased with the arrangement made for my accessibility needs.
What a fantastic venue this is. Run by some lovely people. I can't wait to go back
I have been here for a number of events now, and I strongly recommend coming here. It is one of my very favourite venues local to me. It has really interesting artists and events that are always worth checking out. Apart from being handy for seeing artists touring nationally, it has a number of local events, too.nnThere is lots of parking nearby. Tea & coffee plus alcohol is available before and during performances. If I am having one, I usually order a beer in advance of the interval, as there can be a long queue.nnThere is always a lovely atmosphere, and staff are friendly and helpful. The men's toilets don't allow for many people at a time, so there is often a queue, but that is only a quibble.nnSeating at events I have been at is not allocated to a ticket, so it can be worth being early if you really want certain seats. This said, it is a fairly intimate venue, and you can see very well from wherever you are sat. There may be arrangements for people with special requirements.nnBox office is open on the day of the events, but fairly often events I have been to have sold out, so it is best to buy tickets in advance, or phone to check if there are seats still available.
I visit the Otley Courthouse mainly because of the Otley Makers, and their fabulous Repair Café. I also visit the craft fairs and other events in the hall.nnGreat resource. Highly recommended and rated
I've just read an obituary for Dave Cousins, founding member of the group Strawbs. I saw them at the Old Courthouse in 2017, Dave Cousins, Dave Lambert and Chaz Kronkall. Brilliant evening, Dave was full of memories, especially when he told of their keyboard player being taken sick weeks before a tour. A friend knew a young keyboard player from the pub who could be a good stand in. He was a young Rick Wakeman, and the band they were supporting were a group called 'Yes'. The rest is history.nRIP Dave Cousins.
