Stayed at Hafan, absolutely fabulous setting and the cottage was really lovely, high quality throughout worth every penny
We’re just back from a weekend at Aotearoa and what a fab weekend we’ve had. The house is amazing, it’s got everything you could ask for in the lovely kitchen and loads of room for everyone. The house is so well thought out with plenty of bathrooms, comfy beds and three huge sofas. The weather wasn’t great on on of the days but we were actually pleased about that as we got to enjoy the house. Loads of amazing walks right on your doorstep and beautiful beaches all within walking distance - church bay really is only a 10 minute walk and lovely places to eat in walking distance too. My advice is to stop at the shop on the way in there isn’t one in walking distance to get all the supplies you want and then dump the car and spend your time enjoying the area, it really is beautiful. Plenty of room for parking - we had two cars, one is a camper van and they didn’t make a dent on the drive room. Garden is lovely with sea views to the front and county views to the back. The host was brilliant, super responsive and on hand for any questions and left the house spotless! She’d set up a fire for us so when we arrived we headed straight to the beach to check it out and then came back and lit it and the big lounge was so cosy! Definitely recommend booking here and we will 100% be back!
We stayed at this campsite in our caravan last week and it's a great little site. Lovely sea view, very neat and clean, good sized pitches and only a short walk from the beach too. The owners just leave you in peace, but are on hand if you need them, and it's a great base for exploring the area. Only criticisms I have would be that the toilets are *very* small so if you're very tall, or 'less than petite' shall we say, you might find them very cramped to use. There's also no sign on the road pointing to the campsite. There is a sign on a wall but it's past the entrance, so it's really easy to go past it - not a problem if you're just in a car with a tent but if you're in a big motor home, or towing a caravan, you can easily find yourself shooting past and going up a steep hill instead. So, a road sign would definitely help. There was also, not always but at times, a lot of noise from the Lobster Pot fish processing site just beneath the campsite. Not the campsite's fault at all, of course, and we could tune it out but others might find it harder. And talking about the Lobster Pot, the famous seafood restaurant just down the road, if you're expecting to pop in for a meal you'll be disappointed - it's all booked up for many weeks in advance. But those points aside it's a lovely peaceful and informal site a d we'll definitely go back. :-
This lovely house is perfect for large families where everyone can be together when they want to and have their own space when they prefer. We had no squabbles over whether the World Cup or Wimbledon should be on the TV; there were enough TVs and comfy lounge spaces for everyone. Well equipped kitchens and a choice of tables to eat at, both inside and out on the sunny patio. There's plenty of space for outside games and chairs for snoozing in the sun. There was never a wait for the shower or loo with so many in the house and the comfy beds and fresh linens ensured we all had a great night’s sleep. We didn't have time to try the Lobster Pot restaurant a 3 minute walk away, but it looked great. The Anglesey Coastal Path is close by too so the house is a great location for walkers. We loved it.
This holiday cottage is wonderful in every way! Karen and her team provide a warm welcome. The cottage is so comfortable, spacious and so peaceful. Beautiful gardens, two spacious kitchens, everything you need and comfortable beds. It was perfect for our party of 6 adults and one 2 year old. We had plenty of room. 4 adults in one part of the cottage and 2 adults and their son in the other, and an adjoining doorway. We highly recommend this cottage, thank you Karen once again for an unbelievably fabulous week.
Booked this lovely cottage for a week for a family celebration. We had 4 generations with ages ranging from 79yrs to 5yrs and the cottage was ideal for everyone. There was lots of space so we never felt crowded with separate sitting rooms so the different generations could find their own bit of peace and quiet. It was lovely to have 5 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet so there was never any queuing when it was time to get ready and there was always lots of hot water. The downstairs playroom with the bed settee was an ideal escape for the one boy amongst the children so he could get away from the girls and play on the game machine. We had a tesco delivery booked for the evening we arrived and there was plenty of space in the fridges/ freezers and cupboards to accommodate the goodies to feed us all. The main kitchen had a large table which allowed us to all sit down to eat meals together and the cooker with two ovens, a grill and eight gas rings was a pleasure to cook on. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need and the tassimo coffee maker was a firm favourite sure to appear on a few of the family's Xmas list. August 2016 The gardens were lovely with plenty of room for the children and the two dogs to let off steam and the grassed area at the back of the house was ideal when the children wanted to play ball games without interference from the dogs. Church Bay was beautiful and reached in a couple of minutes walking although the hill back up from the beach was a bit too much for the eldest in our party! We all had a meal at The Lobster Pot and I think everyone agreed they made the best chips they had ever tasted, well worth a visit if you fancy a meal out. All in all we had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gadlys to anyone considering visiting this area. Now all we need is another family celebration to give us an excuse to pay a return visit.
What a beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed a week her with our four children and three dogs. The house was immaculate and the setting perfect. Just a five minute stroll to the beach which is a real beauty. Will definitely be returning.Rooms: 5/5
A stunningly good holiday cottage. Ideal for us and our new puppy. Within easy walk of the beach for dog walking. And the garden could be closed off so puppy could explore safely. Not that there was any traffic down our tiny lane . The house was also wonderfully warm, and the kitchen fully equiped for big cooking sessions. In summary, we are feeling very spoilt, and looking forward to going back.
We were lucky to have our Diamond celebrations with our family at Gadlys. A beautiful house. The bedrooms were all spacious and tastefully presented. There are two well equipped kitchens and it was a treat to sit the whole party 11of us round the table in the larger kitchen. We didn't use the second kitchen but it was also large and would have been more than adequate for six people. We were lucky with the weather but a cursory look in the drawers showed the owner had thoughtfully provided various games we could have used in inclement conditions. I almost forgot! Ensuites and six toilets are a boon with a large party. We had a great week and I would recommend Gadlys to anyone.
This is a great little site. The beach is about 400m away. There is a small cafe in the way to the beach. The beach is fantastic for rockpools and shelves gradually. If your into ships you can watch the Irish ferries vome snd go and its in eyesight for the ships going into Liverpool. There is a pub nearby which tskes 10min to walk to. There are two showers and two toilets the only reason ive not given it 5 stars is that the toilets are a bit snug.
