We stayed here for two nights for a renewal of wedding vows for my sister. This is an extremely well managed place. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The room exceeded our expectations. The bathroom was amazing not what you would expect from any hotel. Amazingly huge shower that actually worked well. The food was excellent. Very well presented and cooked to perfection. Breakfast is served downstairs in a quiet room. I had eggs benedict on the first morning and was cooked to perfection. Next morning I thought I would try the porridge. This again was lovely. Every single member of staff should be proud of the service they provided. Always a smile and easy to talk to. Even on the evening when they had to serve 22 people all together the quality of the food and service did not drop. An amazing little gem of a place. I would not hesitate to go back there should the need arise. Congratulations to each and every one of you.
Didn't stay in the room I'd expected..but that was down to me. But this hotel is little gem !! Beautiful building and staff who go above and beyond...just want to say thanks for a great stayRooms: 5/5
What a delight this hotel was. From the warm greeting, the lovely decor, the cleanliness, lovely spacious and well appointed room. The food was great too and the relaxed atmosphere. It was nice to enjoy a drink in the bar. Free parking on the street. We always got a space. All the staff are a credit to the hotel especially Georgia and Lilli. Thank you for making it such an enjoyable stay. Great Yarmouth seaside delights were lovely to explore.
June 2022 - Stayed here for one night. Its location is brilliant, free parking outside - best if you get there early for a spot. The hotel itself was so clean outside and even cleaner inside. It's warm and friendly. The receptionist was very informative and helpful. We loved the room, it was a nice size with en-suite. I know it's an old building but it's so creaky, the floors, wardrobe, bed and chair. I wake up early to enjoy the day and worry so much I'm going to wake the next room. I really like the fact its 13years and over because its nice to have a break from my children and not have to listen to others' children instead..
Lovely hotel, room was very comfortable, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was amazing Rooms: 5/5
A very good find. We visit great yarmouth a couple of times a year and never stayed in the same place twice, we will be back here. Rooms are nice clean modern but not to corporate, the food is lovely had a amazing evening meal, the breakfast was very good as well my poached egg were a bit undercooked for me that's being picky. I'm sure they would have done me a new one if I asked, as the staff were lovely and nothing was to much for them.
nicely appointed room we stayed in the bay window one, in a quiet street just a couple of minutes from the buzz but far enough to enjoy a sound night sleep. comfortable mattress. friendly service. absolutely stunning breakfast for quality, choice and value. 4 instead of 5 starts for the room / bed / bathroom size - all three a bit too small at this price tag
In life, I believe, one should always avoid preconceptions. Broke my own rule when I took in my first impression of the Andover. Looking at the Victorian style terraced building I was thinking the interior would be typically seaside hotel decor. You know, patchy carpets, peeling yellow wallpaper, a shower that’s a converted bath complete with stained curtain, uncomfortable bed, 20 inch tube tv and two inconveniently placed twin power outlets one of which was hosting the tv and kettle. None of the above applied. Decor was modern in both room and communal areas, in room was spotless, shower was dedicated eco-model, bed was comfortable, power outlets were numerous and carried USB charging points and tv was 48 inch flatscreen. Also, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and well managed. The Andover is within five to ten minutes walk from the beach, marina, pier, aquarium, museum, cinema and town centre. Only minuses were - The room was a little small as was the shower for the money and, in room 12 anyway, you’re just up the stairs from the restaurant so if anybody’s celebrating anything there you’ll hear them. All good otherwise. PS In both taxis I took the drivers spoke highly of the Andover. That’s always a good sign. Edit: I look forward to the Andover uploading to their website a video of the owner walking average speed 5kph so no breaking sweat from doorstep to beach sand in 60 seconds. I maintain 3 minutes brisk walking pace, five minutes leisurely stroll. Also, I have been travelling all around Britain’s coastline this past five weeks taking in five hotels. Yours was the second smallest room after Morecambe and the second most expensive after Preston.
The room was spacious as we also had a sitting area. Everywhere was spotless and the bed was so comfy. The staff were so friendly and an absolute credit to the hotel. The bar was great and we only had breakfast as we ate out all the time. Im disappointed that I didn't get to sample the larger menu. We went away for a lovely weekend and this lovely hotel and its staff made it even better. Thank you so much and we will definitely see you again. Remember my bible
Lovely hotel, nice old building but quite modern inside on a leafy street.Very clean and nicely presented, very friendly staff. Room was double bay window and was perfect for us, nice size.Fairly quiet location with a small amount of passing traffic sometimes. Adults only hotel, so a great break for us to recharge from the kids.Staff are very friendly and approachable. Only negative is we didn't have breakfast as didn't fancy full English but everything on the menu is the same price which doesn't represent value for money, for example a bowl of porridge is the same price as a full English£7.50. Other then that everything was perfect. Will defo stay again, well done to hotel management and the staff for creating a lovely hotel to stay in.
