We had out company Christmas lunch here, and it was absolutely amazing. The portion sizes were perfect, and the meal was fabulous. Very nice touch, chef Leon came out to our table for feedback. Definitely want to have our next company party here as well!Service: 5/5
Had an afternoon tea, a gift from my children for our 40th wedding anniversary. Initial thought was there wasn't enough food but I was wrong. There was plenty. Sandwiches were lovely with different flavoured breads. Scones were to die for and the cakes were superb although a bit sickly for me. The choice of teas was terrific but they didn't have my first choice. Venue is lovely, elegant and very comfortable. Easy access to restaurant and bathrooms. There are 4 or 5 steps to enter the hotel but I'm sure they either have a ramp or staff to assist. The staff were very knowledgeable of their menus and all were very polite, cheerful, kind and helpful.
A fairly good Christmas Day meal overall but a few small niggles. These may seem fussy but please keep in mind for the price tag of £115 per person I expect things to be spot on! Pros: Meal overall was good - the food came at a good pace and did not feel rushed. Food was generally of a good standard with good variation between courses. Christmas music gave a nice ambience. Staff were friendly and attentive. Cons: The main one! - We selected the venue for its old country house hotel style and arrived to find we were eating in a marquee in the garden clearly used for work style Christmas parties/weddings. The hotel really should make this clear when you book as you are not actually in the hotel building. It was predictably a little chilly and stark as trying to decorate such a large white space is difficult. Veggie main was poor and should have been the star of the show! The wellington tasted of lemon almost a washing up liquid taste!, the glazed carrots were clearly boiled unless what they had been glazed in was just water and the whole plate was covered in a thick gravy which you had to eat with everything. Surely this could have been on one side of plate or in a jug. The chocolate dessert was terrible - lots of people left it - the Christmas pudding was ok at best. Honestly the starters and interim courses were so much better than the main and dessert! Overall a good meal out but as I said with the price tag I really would be expecting to give a 5 star score!
Coming back 3 years after getting married here we are still as impressed with hotel, service and food as when we got married. David was our waiter for our dinner and was brilliant and interacted with us perfectly including making a perfect espresso martini. Many happy memories.Rooms: 5/5
I went for a conference in the garden pavillion area. It was beautiful. Swift service throughout the day with a vast selection of teas coffees and snacks. Lunch was a plenty and we all had a good time. They provided pens and paper and water on the tables. Overall great venue.
Used for travel down to a meeting in Southampton, well positioned off the M3. Hotel was brilliant Room was lovely Breakfast was good Check in was good The only thing that let the hotel down was the checkout. 1. I do not carry a credit or debit card anymore 2. Being told that legally you must at check out is an outright lie. 3. Told that contactless wouldn't work due to the amount £160.00 I ended up telling the reception person that it would be fine and would work. Which it did Would of been 5* if checkout was better.
Absolutely amazing stay! We went for the christmas package. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds. The food was delicious. The staff made our stay they could not have been more helpful and friendly. We were sad to leave and will definitely go backRooms: 5/5
A level of friendly professional service and attention to detail in every area that other hotels should use as a benchmark. I stay there often and it always impresses in a different aspect each time. Faultless.
Thank you for our amazing Wedding!! We had the most amazing day, Michael and Sam were incredible… all the staff were. A few people said to us how nice and help all the staff were and nothing was ever too much. We couldn’t speak more highly of Audley’s wood and our experience from our first show round to our last goodbyes was magical. There is not one thing I would change about our day with them!! Thank you for the most special day of our lives!
Held a Christmas function here. It was WOW. Food both looked and tasted amazing. Service was both fantastic and wow. Will be holding further events here. They could not have been more helpful. Prices were very good as well.Service: 5/5
