Lunchtime visit. One dish arrived cold, but was resolved. Food presentation was good and was tasty. Service was ok, but a bit slow considering they were very quiet. Overall we enjoyed it but just lacked a little somethingFood: 4/5
Was a bit worried about visiting after reading some recent views. However, the kids wanted to visit, I'm pleased to say we had a great meal! The waitress who served us was polite and helpful and added to the experience. There was a wide choice of gluten-free options and the pizza I had was very nice. Would return Dietary restrictions: Large choice of gluten free options
Not the best experience, Went in with my partner for nice dinner before our movie session. We had food delivered feom here before and it was amazing so we had some expectations build up. They got my partner's plate completely wrong so it went back, which is fine - it happens. When we got her king prawn and crayfish fresh pasta, it had only 3 praws and 5 small pieces of crayfish. Sauce and pasta were also juts sort of a blob with no real fresh flavours to it. Now looking at photos of this same dish on the reviews here we can tell it was a night and day difference in all aspects. While we were waiting for the correct dish to be made mine just sat on their counter and they yad to re-heat it later too. No one came to the table to check on the food during all the time we were eating, making the overall experience just a disappointment even if it had a nice environment.
The food was really good, The Calamari was really light on the batter and great taste. I then had king prawn and crayfish tagliatelle which was also very nice. Also had a pudding, the small platter of 3 options to share, I would say the brownie is extremely small, however the tiramisu and salted caramel Panna cotta was lovely. The service was good enough and the atmosphere was okay, wasn’t blown away per say but the quality of the food helped. Vegetarian options: good options for vegetarians and even vegans, a good even split about 50/50 Parking: Parking would be within the festival place car park. 2-3 hours will cost you £4. 3-4 hours will be £4.50 . Kid-friendliness: They have a starter, main course and dessert for £7.50 which does seem pretty decent value considering there is 3 courses. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is ground level with seating plan on the ground level, there is an upstairs level also which they could accommodate to other guests if you would need the seating downstairs
Great food and service was good up front although had to work to get attention to ask for the dessert menu. The sign for the toilets has been jumbled making it hard to find the baby change which was in a different place to the main toilets. Perhaps let parents know when we come in? Kid-friendliness: Friendly with the children and flexible with sorting food quickly.
I have visited this restaurant a few times now and generally its pretty good. The only thing that really lets it down is its staffing levels. Despite having a second floor of seating its rarely utilised and there always seems to be only a few waiting staff on despite being busy. Wait times can be a little long. we waited maybe 15 minutesfor our drinks after ordering. Waiting times between courses etc seemed to drag on a bit. Despite this the staff were really good, friendly and were by no means slacking. they just needed more waiting staff, this seems to be a regular occurence on my previous visits and have been often told there is a long wait for a table when the restaurant appears to have lots of tables. The food was pretty good, pizzas and pastas were tasty, hot and fresh. The deserts were delicious. Dietary restrictions: vegan and veggie options Kid-friendliness: crayons and colouring for kids, suitable for kids that can sit at a table.
We read lots of reviews before coming here and I have to say we’re nearly put off! Our experience was great, the service was super friendly, quick and went above and beyond to check all was ok! Very impressive add food was good too! We sat outside and enjoyed our meal! Staff weee great!
This is a really lovely place to dine out, the food is so flavoursome and the staff are very friendly. I thoroughly enjoy it every time I go and I would recommend it if you're in Basingstoke. 'G' is a lovely waiter and an asset to the restaurant also.
Food was very good except for the croutons on my wife’s salad. They were burnt, soggy with fat and smelled disgusting. They should never have left the kitchen. I cannot understand why any one in the kitchen thought it was OK to serve them to a customer. Not surprisingly they were sent back. The replacements were delicious - light, crispy and tasty. Just how they should have been first time around
Family lunch out for a treat for half term. Had to ask 5 times for a children’s menu and to order some drinks. The main course came sea bass without the white wine sauce. This then came 5 minutes later. My son’s meal came with no peas despite being advertised on the menu. The food was fine but the service was very poor as if the staff were brand new from catering school with no idea how to treat customers. I wouldn’t rush here to spend your hard earned money
