We were hiking to the Tomnavarie Stone Circle and came across this gem in Tarland.  Built in the 1700’s, the owners have gone to great lengths to give all the modern amenities but keep the look and feel of an old Inn.   We had lunch in the stone courtyard and then moved into the pub for another pint.   The staff were friendly and we had a chance to chat with the owner.   Definitely worthy of a visit.  We will be back here for sure.

Great little country hotel.  We didn't eat here, having only stopped in for teas and coffees, but the menu looked very good.  Toilets are available as public toilets by arrangement with Aberdeenshire Council. Used by walkers who are asked to remove muddy footwear before entering.

Had a lovely meal here. A very welcoming place. Stopped to to see the nearby Tomnaverie Stone Circle at sunset. That was one of the highlights of our trip!
