Went to the cod House as our usual chippy was closed. We had sausage and chips and cod roe and chips. Very disappointing. They don't do battered sausages who ever heard of a chippy not doing battered sausage . The cod roe was awful the batter was a mess!!!! Wasn't on the roe just a uncooked mess in paper!!! Too much oil was just so so much oil!!!! Chips awful not hot and so full of oil and soggy. The cod house could have gained more custom from this as more people went there as other one was closed. But they blew it!!!! Absolutely awful!
Always great fish and chips, cooked to perfection. Far and away ths best in Beccles and surrounding area.Food: 5/5

The food was very tasty. I awarded one less star for service because the staff all seemed very good except for the lady who served us . my husband and I wanted 2 cod and one portion of chips , we were going to eat them down by the boats so we wanted salt and vinegar on one and just salt on the other , it all seemed too much of an effort for her , I asked for some vinegar in a little pot , another member of staff kindly obliged .
Going by my one experience, the fish and chips are fine. Not terrible or bad, but not the best I've had. That said, I'll probably them again at some stage. We all have off days, after all.Food: 3/5
Always get great service and food from this takeaway. The chips are simply awesome and a curry sauce to die for. The fish is always crispy and cooked well and my wife assures me the sausages in batter are as good too. I look forward to using this chippy for a long time.

After my first time visit 5 months ago where I was blown away by portion size and fish quality, called today and I was so incensed by the small portion of chips which was supposed to be large and paid £3.00 for it, I drove back to chippy and was told that's it!! Never again I do not like being taken for a mug. Never had this trouble in London. Absolute rubbish
Absolutely the very best fish and chips in Beccles. Cod and chips is to die for!!!! The staff are so lovely and the place is clean and well maintained. I love the fact that I can place my order online for a time of my choosing!
