Worst surgery I've ever been registered with. The receptionists treat you with contempt and the Doctors when you get to see one treat you like a number and don't listen. Their appointment booking system is terrible and if you dare ring them after 9am, you are fobbed off. You are told they will ring you without the slightest idea of a time. Even a 4 hour window would be nice. Needs improvement from top to bottom.
Absolute clowns. Very Rude Nurse Practitioners that don't have a clue. Fake until they make it seems to be how they qualify. What Nurse Practitioner doesn't know what POTS is? Yeah google knows far more than you and I know how to research peer reviewed papers unlike you. Stay clear, always in special measures. They lack continuous care for their patients, they like to try embarass their patients infront of trainees. Your arrogance will be your failures.
Receptionists think they are Drs, Never an actual Dr available, appointments cant be booked and when you call you get told sorry no1 available try calling back another time...ive been calling everyday for a week and still nothing. Not only this but you cant submit online consultations as it constantly says your GP is not accepting online consultations.... Just use a different DRs these are terrible
Last Tuesday 11/10/22 I rang and asked for a prescription for blood pressure tablets and told the receptionist I only had 2 tablets left this is because my tablets were changed mid prescription too the rest of my medication. She told me she had put it through for me. When Thursday came I rang the pharmacy to see if they had my prescription and if they were delivering today as I had no tablets for tomorrow, she said they didn't have it and she would ring the Doctors and chase it up. Friday came I rang the Doctors to be told it was waiting to be signed by a Doctor I asked if she would ring me back and let me know what was happening as I had already missed one days tablet. She did not ring back. I rang the Doctors again Friday evening as I still had not heard anything I was put on hold for ages and then told it has been sent to the Pharmacy who I then rang to see if they had got it and was told to ring back Saturday morning.I rang them and eventually got my tablets Saturday. There was no apology from the Doctors I had a constant headache as 5 months prior to been put on blood pressure tablets I had very high BP and spent the day at James Cook hospital sent there by a GP from the Coatham Surgery as an emergency. I am not happy at the service I received.
I have been with this practice for about 18 years now, I never used to have any bother getting to see a GP but, now it has totally gone down hill, I have rang early on a morning, rings out for a couple of seconds then the line goes dead, ring again the same thing happens, I eventually get through and low and behold, no appointments, not even for phone consultations, I have even gone to the surgery at 8 o'clock, and still told no appointments, I am asthmatic and having a lot of trouble with my breathing, I haven't had a asthma review for nearly 5 years, I have been to the walk in center because my breathlessness was so bad I was nearly passing out with it. The doctor whom I did see there had me taken to JC hospital as he thought I was having heart attack, which I knew it wasn't, at least he followed up on it. But he was also appalled as I hadn't had a review for my asthma. Then again I ended up at the walk in, this time the nurse there thought it might be viral infection, again it wasn't, and even she asked when was the last time I had asthma review. I have rang the surgery for a review, and my appointment is for June 7th, That is a disgrace as I need to see somebody before then, my asthma is out of control, I have also tried the website, I get so far and it says to seek medical advice from GP. This surgery does not seem to have the standard of care for there patients like they used to.
Tried for 8 weeks to get an appointment due to my mental health and they keep saying they'll ring me back and NEVER DO. No wonder there is so many suicides.
Would give a rating of zero if the system would allow it. Practically impossible to get through on a morning to arrange an appointment. In my experience it takes at least 30 phone calls for the call to be answered and then told all of the telephone consults have gone and advised to ring again the next day or to phone 111. A deep rooted lack of empathy from the surgery.
I’ve been trying to get my shoulder looked at for over two years now, they keep saying they have made me an appointment and I will hear back from the hospital but I never do. The last time I rang the Doctor said “You’ve called me about this before, what do you want me to do about it” I’m now waiting for a referral to Newcastle hospital for something unrelated, I took the letter in 2 weeks ago, I’ve just rang to see why the appointment hasn’t been made, the letter is still with the doctor. She probably hasn’t bothered to look at it. I went with this doctors after moving back to redcar, I’d join the other surgery if your thinking about using this one.
My wife has been having issues with lower abdominal pain for some time, she attended an appointment with a doctor who asked for a blood sample that was done and the result was nothing detected. The doctor did not tell her exactly what the blood test was looking for which is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE as communication is vital with patients. She remained in discomfort and finally just before Christmas after a telephone consultation managed to book an appointment with another doctor who arranged for a scan. The scan was carried out on 2/2/2022 . Now this is the disgusting part of this debacle. She received a phone call 13.00 - 13.30 on the 3/2/2022 from a receptionist telling her that the scan showed something up and the doctor will maybe call her later on the 3/2/2022 to discuss. After several calls by her to get to speak to a doctor ASAP as she was very worried failed. Just after 5pm on 3/2/2022 a receptionist finally rang her stating that it won’t be till sometime tomorrow before a doctor will ring her to discuss. Why was a receptionist calling her to tell her about the news on the scan results, it is imperative a doctor do this as there are many questions she has that need to be answered what is it, treatment, what next, when etc these are things a receptionist cannot answer. So, it is now possibly a 24hrs wait till she can get to the bottom of this and get answers. Receptionists MUST not be left to deliver news such as this, it should only be doctors. I am quite sure the doctor has 10 mins as an absolute maximum to phone her direct and discuss ASAP the day the scan results are obtained. Receptionists are delivering half a story of bad news without the patients getting the chance to gain answers and a way forward from the doctor as they don’t give a damn. THIS IS A TOTALLY UNACEPTABLE PRACTICE and it reinforces the CQC report that this medical practice requires improvement. This is a shocking situation leaving her and the rest of the family worrying needlessly because the doctors either couldn’t be bothered to speak to her direct or just thought it was an inconvenience to them to speak direct to her to explain the situation and answer her questions or concerns and offer her reassurance. If i could give zero star rating i would. The lack of quality communication is disgusting and their dealings with patient efficiently is equally disgusting. they treat patients like an inconvenience. Working in retail, in my mid forties, living with my elderly mother who has COPD, still no Covid vaccination. Can't get through to talk to someone when I've been ill, problems getting repeat prescriptions, no availability for appointments, even phone call, despite explaining my history and symptoms to reception, which I really shouldn't have to do anyway. Have been with the surgery for more than 20 years and used to rate them very highly, but I am starting to think that the decline in service is permanent.
