The building is clean and well maintained- lots of age and character, wooden beams etc. Charming , small outside area, thoughtfully arranged. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Food was good and was artistically served, however, it could have been hotter. Parking could be a problem as there are only a handful of spaces on site.
Lovely meal at a very competitive price. Pleasant accommodating staff for our table of eleven guests. I only wish I had room for one of the puddings after my dinner! Smallish carpark, but plenty of parking spaces on the wide road outside. I am looking forward to visiting again very soon.

Lovely, lovely food, and a very friendly welcome. The restaurant wasn't busy when we went in, but I'm surprised it wasn't, as we enjoyed our evening there. The only thing was the draught coming in the window. We should have moved! Lol. Parking's a bit tight around the back, but it's all juggle-able, if that's a word! The outside area will be great in the summer
Excellent Sunday roast! Great value for money! We went for Sunday lunch and we’re provided with high quality well proportioned roasts dinners. Food tasted amazing. We had the choice of a kids roasts, standard roast and large so something for all. Standard roast was plenty and it only costs £10.50. Bargain! Genuinely paid almost double this in other similar style pubs/ restaurants. Highly recommend this lovely little pub.
We had a late lunch here Friday 20th Aug 2021 and it was great. The guys were helpful and timely with service. The menu is nicely varied and the food served was of excellent quality. The sorbet ice cream was particularly good. I enjoyed a pint of draft cider and a pint of Landlord, both of which tasted refreshingly pure. Signs of a well kept cellar and pipes. Well done Carpenters! We hope to visit again soon. It would be nice to see some stuff for kids, like crayons/pencils and colouring sheets, but you still get five stars for a thoroughly good pub experience. Thank you.
Fantastic food, really delicious! Very warm friendly feel, staff are extremely helpful and good fun, the new garden and covered area make it so much nicer to sit outside too! It’s retained it character inside with a double sided fire in both bar and lounge, it’s heavenly, and very reasonable prices too!
08/06 Popped in for a quick pint, so relaxed with such friendly staff and customers I stayed for two. Will return. 15/06 Returned. Ate, drank, all good. Chef and young lady serving both great. Might just return again...
Nice little pub, nice outside seating area. Food was lovely. Drinks were a little expensive as bottled lemonade. If we had been having a pint of alcohol the burger and pint would have been just £10. But because we had soft drinks we paid more.
Sam and his team were really lovely . They did a funeral wake for me and showed compassion and integrity when I booked it. The food was lovely and was catered to our needs. Would highly recommend
