Harassed for debts that aren't even ours! Just to be clear from the outset, I am not, nor ever have been a customer of The Car Finance Company however, unfortunately, have had around 2 years of dealing with them. As a tenant, we received a lot of letters for the previous tenants, and it was apparent that many of them were from credit companies. We returned all mail for the first 9 months, then began opening letters and contacting the companies with a view to preventing fraud. Despite contacting The Car Finance Company on numerous occasions via phone, letter and email, they have refused to update their records - on one email they said that they can't do that unless the customer contacts them with their new address! The company have continued to pursue the debt at our address to the point that they keep threatening to send 'authorised agents' to visit, and this has been since December. Although no agents have yet called, this is obviously causing a great deal of anxiety and stress - especially to my wife who has been off work sick for nearly a year. I've sent further letters (which were signed for upon delivery) which have been ignored, and their actions definitely fall under harassment. I am now at the point that I will be contacting the Financial Ombudsman filing a complaint.

Used tcfc to purchase a car from a dealership. During the first 6 months of purchase I had to replace tyres and suspension had numerous water issues had to have a new water pumore and an auxiliary belt then then 6 months later the engine went on the vehicle. I spoke to numerous people at tcfc regarding a complaint. I was told so many different things I was told if I could get different evidence to prove the vehicle would of had issues at point of sale or within 6 months they would help but every time I provided evidence from the garage I would get told a different story. No one communicated at all I had to explain myself and chase them every time and it was the most stressful 7 months of my life now i then wanted to terminate the contract as I had paid over half the finance I was told by one person I could then I was told I couldn't by another then all of sudden the said they were terminating I am now paying for a car that is not road worthy their customer service is shocking and they lie to people. Awful company

Given 3 stars here! As always this company are great as they help people out whilst they are 're building their credit history. We got a great reliable car from one of the dealers you work with and have made 36 monthly payments on time never late never missed 100 percent stuck the agreement we received a letter to state that we would be entitled to a lower rate due to been a valued customer and sticking to our agreement which was great, we then called up to be told that actually they do not offer reduced rates anymore and had scrapped the idea and that the letter I received ment nothing. I'd like to ask your company you take a risk in financing people with lower credit scores what about people who have built their credit history up from a bad to a good who have never missed a payment or been late people who can now be financed by other lenders what do you offer those loyal credit worthy customers? How are you keeping your loyal customers? The ones who you can 100 percent guarantee to stick to a full credit agreement? NOTHING??? Doesn't make any sense from a business perspective, a business is built up by loyal customers returning after a good service they should be rewarded why would they stay with you after their circumstances have changed for the better? I will be making an official complaint about the letter I received by you which was obviously a pack of lies. We wanted a bigger family car and will be settling out finance and leaving your company.

I am on the fence with our experience to be honest. We have 4 more payments which end in March 2018. I have phone TCFC to ask about another car but they were very rude and did not want my custom. I am very confused by this as we have never missed a payment. Surely you would want this buisness. Also I was told if you renew you do not get a lower rate of finance. Why offer this to us when this is not the case??
