Decided to succumb to a last minute Sunday Roast craving and fortunately Bush, Blackbird & Thrush had reservations available! Lovely quaint gastropub, always with really pleasant amicable service. We’ve been here once before we were really impressed with the range of cocktails using our favourite Copper Rivet Distillery spirits so we were a tad disappointed that these are not available anymore. Only frozen cocktails available at the moment which I tried but was not keen on. However, the food is still as incredible as ever! They kindly catered to my peculiar request of the Veggie Roast with a side of pork and it was amazing - cleaned up the plate! There was a lot of buzz there as they had a dance group practising outside which was rather unique to watch.
I went there with my friend yesterday when staffs just opened the door for business at 12:00pm. As it was cold and windy, one of the staff immediately lighted up the wood burning stove and we felt warm instantly. The food was lovely although I found the price of starters and desserts a little bit pricey, but the main courses not. The staffs were very friendly and the Christmas songs and decorations are on, it looks great inside. The car park is big and easy to park, restroom is clean. It is a very nice pub at East Peckham. Will go again with family in the futureAccording to the staffs, the starters, maybe desserts often change weekly!
Lovely country pub with pleasant outside seating areas and overall decor. Very welcoming and friendly staff, as well as simple but delicious food. I recommend the sausage and onion ciabatta! Lovely. Chips are amazing, too. Only loses a star as the drinks prices are very high, but that’s Tory Brexit Britain for you. Will come again, great pub!
Visited this evening and was pleasantly surprised. Very warm and friendly welcome from the only server there. Was served a drink straight away which was a welcome . Had the white bait and then the chilli. Food was very quickly served, piping hot and of a very good portion size. Will definitely be returning, well worth the money for the food and atmosphere
Had a lovely afternoon in their garden. Beautiful country pub with stunning surroundings. Had lunch sausage and onion sandwich and cheesy chips which was very nice. Staff were very friendly. Very relaxed and welcoming pub.
A Ploughman’s! Being a little “wet around the ears” I had no idea why the Ploughman’s took up its own section on the specials board. After ordering said dish, I now know why. It is social and yes it is substantial. The steak and ale pie was special too, home made goodness housed in an immense puff pastry pie roof. It is an architectural food master piece, which is rich and sumptuous. The pub is beautiful too and is as traditional as the food it serves.
Lovely food, good quality and portion sizes. Kids meal was spot on too.
Fantastic venue really lovely staff. Beer was excellent but the food wasn't that good and needs more attention. Would highly recommend this venue for caravaning.
Great car show 2nd Sunday . Nice people running the pub .
Came here for lunch on Sunday as a walk in.. had one starter, 2 burgers. The price of drinks is extortionate especially for a pint of draught coke 4 pounds. The service was good although just checked receipt and not impressed with the service charge already added on. Not that I'm tight or anything but it's cheeky to add it on and expect.
