We placed our order at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere of a locals spot. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a great hake fish and chips and the sea bream special was top notch. An incredible building with a mysterious history. Would love to know what the walls have seen!
Lovely pub halfway between London and Rye! Superb Ales, food and welcome from Landlord and locals. Will come again.
The coziest and loveliest place to stop after a walk in the woods! Food is amazing, loads of character, staff is lovely and very polite.
We always have a great time here. Large selection of beers/ales, with good pub grub. Lovely village pub. Beer garden is perfect in the summer
Only popped in, but wow this pub is a bit of me! Brilliant range of cask, incredibly interesting interior, and at the rear, although it was closed during the winter, is a terrific outside bar and entertainment area. Service was ok, after all, I only had a beer, and the team member was focussing on the regulars. Quite rightly. However, the regulars all said good afternoon, and I felt welcome. Can't wait to go back for a longer session, or to attend one of their events. Want to give it 6 stars...
A fascinating pub with a great range of ales. Don't be put off by its age. It is ramshackle and quirky but well worth a visit. The food is nice too.
A lovely proper pub with a warm atmosphere. Great food with a varied selection. Our second visit and definitely worth the 45 minute drive.
Probably one of the worst roasts I've ever paid for. No flavour, 3 tiny potatoes that didn't seem roasted at all and under cooked stir fry veg. No roast veg at all. Maybe their other food is decent but I wouldn't reccomend the roast.
My favourite little country pub. Great food at great prices, friendly efficient team, nice atmosphere with a committed group of locals in most days, an amazing choice of mainly local real ales which are kept in tip top condition!
Brilliant pub with solid food offering and one of the best ale selections in Kent. Almost all local brewers with the occasional one from further afield.
