My partner and I ate here today. We ordered the cheeseburger and the cheesesteak with extra Mayo. People were waiting for ages. People were complaining and getting attitude from the staff. We should have just cancelled our order, but didn’t. This was a mistake. When the food came, I was pretty disgusted with my “cheesesteak,” but my partner’s blood sugar was quite low. So I tried to eat it, but it was tough and nothing like the menu said. Once he got a few bites in, his burger was raw, cold and barely cooked. This was it for me. I decided to ask for a refund, like many other diners. I was told that this sandwich pictured was what I ordered. If you’ll read the menu’s entry for cheesesteak, I think you’ll see that it is not. I also pointed out how raw my partners burger was. I got attitude, shouting and aggression in return. The hostility towards anyone who encountered the staff was instant and surprising. I even asked the girl if she could just read the menu right next to her head and explain to me how this is anywhere close. She was absolutely irate. While I was standing there trying to speak to her, I watched the cook touching everything, wiping his sweat AND tending the food he was cooking. It’s pretty clear to me that this place just does not give a single flying eff what anyone thinks. They acted like their presence was some kind of honour to everyone present. It was shocking.
Place was empty, ordered two hog roast sandwiches, one with no apple sauce, took 15 minutes for order and when it came both had apple sauce wasn’t great very bland, not the warmest either. Advised staff of inaccuracy who said it was was ordered when it wasn’t. Didn’t help our Christmas spirit prior to Christmas shopping.
I didn't intend to leave a review but after visiting today, I was intrigued to see what the reviews were like - then I saw the review below, by a lady who was sat at the table next to me this afternoon and I feel I should leave a review, particularly as the response to it is rather poor. Firstly, everything she said in her review is absolutely true; I was there and witnessed it all, including the undercooked burger. It was their awful looking food and the 30 minute wait amongst other poor things explained below that prompted us to stand up and ask for a refund but as we did, our food arrived. We ordered the hog roast sandwich and a chicken peri peri sandwich with chips. Both were £6 but probably worth £4 at best. The chicken one didn't match the description on the menu and the hog roast was nothing special. Both were edible but something anyone could have made at home. The girl who served us our food said the chips were on the way, 10 minutes later they still hadn't arrived and after already being there for about 45 minutes, we just left. Whilst we were there, the customer service witnessed was absolutely disgusting and as soon as we sat down, we regretted being there as people were complaining and asking for refunds. Granted they were busy, but there is no excuse for poor customer service. 2 elderly ladies next to us not only complained about their wait, to no apology, but when their food arrived 2 sad looking burgers 1 of them said her order was wrong as she ordered a plain burger with nothing on it but it arrived with cheese. The young girl took it away with no apology, came back and said 'we've got no burgers left so do you just want a refund', again, no apology. I didn't quite catch what the lady said back but she was snapped at with, 'erm, can't you see how busy we are'. Another lady complained about waiting 25 mins for cheese on toast and again was snapped at about how busy they were, with no apology. Another couple asked for a refund due to their lengthy wait and as the lady said below in her review, the response she was given by both girls behind the counter was shocking. We sat next to the counter so could see them cooking etc - there was food spilt all over the floor and pots piled everywhere and on the tables. They were using plastic cheese not cheddar as described on the menu and they use frozen burgers as I saw 2 of them trying to separate them with a knife. All in all, it was a disappointing visit and I certainly won't be going back. The food we ate was below average and the other food I saw getting served looked awful. The attitude of the girls working there was disgusting and the response to the below review doesn't surprise me if s/he considers the staff they employ to be acceptable - I would ashamed and disappointed if i had a business and my staff spoke to customers - who pay their wages - as those girls did.

An absolute shocker. Was there at the weekend travelesty staff attitude properly the worst customer service I've witnessed making this an uncomfortable dinner. Food is not good either. Avoid this place.

Nice little cafe that has a range of foods such as hot roast sandwiches, snacks etc plus teas and coffee. Their hog roast sandwich seems popular. Convenient location in the market with some seating outside.
Great little cafe in the heart of Bury town centre, the hog roast sandwiches are fantastic!
The roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce in a bap/butty was perfect. We didn’t even sit down to eat just got stuck in as we wandered round Bury Market. Lovely friendly service too. We’ll be back!
