Amazing food! Came in with my daughter for a catch up over coffee and cake and was blown away by how gorgeous the cakes were! Also the waitresses were lovely and very accommodating to our buggy (even moving tables to allow us ease of access) and other customers in wheelchairs. Lovely service with friendly greetings and goodbyes, will see you all soon!

My wife and I visited recently and really enjoyed our experience. I've noticed some negative comments for this cafe and I can only say that either these people are mistakenly writing about the wrong cafe or are just being malicious for the sake of it. If you want to avoid the high street brand cafes and enjoy somewhere with some individuality and genuine atmosphere than you should head to Lilley's cafe. Our coffees tasted better than those at Costa etc and the food was tasty, freshly made and good value. In addition, the young waitress who served us - Grace? - could not have been more helpful and friendly. She even laughed when I asked her to 'bring me the finest wines known to humanity'. Well it made me laugh!

The serving staff were sweet and very helpful, honestly some of the loveliest staff I've met. The food was amazing and the overall atmosphere was just brilliant. Loved it!

Paid £4.99 for as menu states chicken fillet burger, instead received cheap processed chicken nugget burger. Also had mushroom and beef burger mushrooms where so oily they saturated the bun. When asked if everything was ok with meal we told that the chicken was not as described in the menu to which the member of staff replied "sorry, cya". Also ordered a latte which on arrival was barely warm. My partner had wrote the the manager explaining this bad experience, to which they offered for us to come back to the cafe and try again to the value of original meal £16. I didn't return as Id enough first time round but partner decided to go as she thought we deserved something for the money they received. On arrival the manager said that she had changed her mind because of the review partner had posted and that she wouldn't be giving her any food until She deleted her feedback first. All in all shoddy management, no customer service and poor food. The fact we couldn't get a seat in any of the usual places we eat out in as was a really busy Saturday and this place was pretty much empty speaks volumes!

Wonderful tea room that is in an ideal location near the market and next to the bus station. Very friendly staff, making my 2 year old son feel very welcome and he loves coming here especially now they serve ice cream! Speaking of which, make sure you try a freakshake, they are amazing!
