We had the beef Sunday dinner and it was lovely. All 4 of us were very happy with the food and had clear plates! We also all had dessert, chocolate fudge cake, lemon tart, apple pie and cheesecake all good! Again, clear plates! The pub is lovely too. The staff are attentive and friendly. They were also very accommodating of our dog and brought him a bowl of water. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
After a difficult uphill walk from the Manchester road doing physio for a recent knee operation. I was so glad to see the welcoming pub sign. It's wasn't open yet which was also a bonus as we could rest for 10 minutes. Lol After a very friendly welcome, drinks served and food arrived swiftly. Proper home cooked, fresh, tasty and hearty food. We both ordered the Hot Roast Beef sandwich and chips! Perfect fuel for my walk back home! Superb and well recommended guys!
My family and friends came here for Sunday lunch and we all like the Sunday roast alot. I think it's the best Sunday roast I have had so far. Soft meat, well roasted sweet veg and the gravy is fabulous I like thick gravy. Really enjoyed the meal and will come back. Highly recommened
Hard to find real home cooked food these days. This place did not disappoint. Had lamb shank/veg and dad had ribs dinner. Both superb. Staff friendly. I'll travel the 30 miles from Manchester to enjoy a real meal. Nice country drive out too
Went here for a family meal recently and wow, so good! One of the best fillet steak meals I've ever had. Portion size spot on. Pleasant staff and nice atmosphere. Not the cheapest but I don't mind paying for food this good.Food: 5/5
Called in during overnight stop in motorhome, great village location with excellent food at a reasonable price. Parking: Large flat car park adjacent to premises
Always love it here. Friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly. Reasonable variety of food, not many vegetarian options but they are there. Music tends to be the same 80s songs every time we go in. Very large car park. Outside seating next to the road. Two for one option every day but Sunday. Definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Even though they had a large group in we were greeted pleasantly. Our drinks order was taken and delivered swiftly. It was pie night, two for £16 full menu also available very tastyFood: 5/5
Not nice staff, been moved from a table as it is food only. They should have a notice up staying but none. Followed staff to sit at another table which was fine, until another member of staff told we can't sit here for long as they need the table, no reserved sign on the table. Won't be back.
Lunch was sausage and mash with roast veg. It was covered in mustard and tasted of vinegar yuk! Not even an apology from proprietor. We weren't offered dessert, coffee, more drinks or, in fact ANYTHING! But the waiter did knock about £2.50 off the bill Parking: Over road from pub
