From my first contact over the phone with Lewis, to our friendly service by Lissy, to our excellent meal cooked by Theo, our 16th anniversary meal could not have been any better. Thank you for making it special.
Disappointing food with loads of items missing on the menu. They removed the starters from our bill but I won't return by choice. It looks great and had a nice feel when entering but it was downhill from there. Such a shame as we were celebrating a friends 50th. On the plus side, they brought us some plates and forks so we could eat the cake we had brought with us. Unfortunately for them, that was the nicest food we ate there! I had the squid starter that was so processed it was all herby batter and nothing else. Very dry and bland. I then had the Smothered chicken which was SOOO smothered all I could taste was bbq sauce. I didn't go hungry but I wasn't satisfied.
We have just enjoyed a beautiful meal here. Louise served us and was the most caring and helpful member of staff ever. The starter platter was adapted specially for us and every meal was not only presented well , they were all lovely and hot. We will all definitely be returning. Thank you for a great evening .
Really great service. We were told we would have wait but the food was very prompt. Server was attentive and very polite. Starter of courgette and peppers was lovely. Risotto very very greasy with no flavour. Sundae was ok. Decor average
Visited with three friends for a meal in the evening. Excellent service and the food was lovely. We were all very happy! Many thanks to a Ali for looking after us and to Nick who cooked the wonderful food! Will be returning for another visit soon. Thank you.
Very warm and welcoming pub. Walked in with my partner and immediately felt comfortable, didn't wait long for a table before a member of staff to greet and show us to our table. Food was great and service was excellent. Pub was very clean and tidy.
Menu was very short, items missing considering it was 18.30 on a Saturday night. My friends had pies and the pastry casing was extremely hard, appeared baked then microwaved? They didn't like to complain but it's a regular occurrence. My fish and pea risotto was very good, but peas on top of rice doesn't make it a pea Risotto.
I booked a table here recommended, for a nice meal and drinks with friends and we had a great time. Though the venue was busy, the staff were helpful and welcoming not to mention my food was delicious Cajun chicken burger. I will be coming back for more
Ali and chef Nick were great. Service friendly, and food tasty. Lasagne and chips great. Problems with food delivery meant a lot of items on the menu were unavailable but still a good choice. Three stars because of unavailable items, but good atmosphere in this cosy pub.
Used to be a great venue..... staff were great but as seems to be the norm under pressure and understaffed, and everything suffered. The wait for all courses was diabolical and the quality of food served was substandard at every level.......on every course multiple dishes wete missing, on the food served:- seared scallops seemed to be broiled, risotto that was pretty much plain rice topped with bullet peas, on the roast yorkshire puddings that resembled pretty much pancakes and frozen roast potatoes purporting to be proper goose fat potatoes the meat on the roasts sampled by our party gave same results poor quality badly cooked at inflated price point I personally feel sad that this establishment has been left to live on past greatness with insufficient investment in decor, staff, and price point..... a whole lot better out there
