Arrived at 1.00pm with a friend.  Asked to order food to be told we would have to wait until all the booked tables had been served.  The restaurant was less than half full.  We only wanted steak sandwiches which we were eventually allowed to order best part of an hour later.  When we went to settle the bill it contained several drinks ordered by other people.  The place has recently been tastefully decorated.  Just unfortunate the service does nit match.

A facial uplift !  The Bull has been a local pub favourite for decades. Now with a complete makeover inside it's a shiny new pin giving other locals a run for their money. Small but perfectly formed with a rustic/shabby chic interior The Bull feels warm and relaxed. Staff are superb greeting you as soon as you arrive. We had booked a table for four at 1.00 and were shown to our table with a smile and chalkboard options for lunch. A staple menu was also on the table. Between us we ordered low priced two course meals of ham egg and chips, sausage and mash followed by spotted dick and custard all healthy portions with bags of flavour arriving hot and steaming. Two of us had tuna mayo and cucumber and sausage sandwiches on brown bread. Prices were low compared to other overpriced eateries. The only down side sliced bread and not chunky home cooked rustic breads. A great menu. But book it's popular and was full not a table to spare. Well done The Bull!

Quieter than it used to be. Supposedly undergoing renovation soon which might open and liven it up a bit. Beer is kept in good order though so no grumbles. Food supposedly top notch but haven't eaten here recently so can't verify this.
UPDATE. Renovation completed and has transformed the space into a far more open plan and rustic style pub come eatery. Please refer to the new photos...

Very smart refurbishment. Went and had full English breakfast last Saturday morning. Huge plate full. Went again Saturday evening, place was packed. Very nice pub. Will definitely recommend.
