"We are delighted to have been able to return The British Queen in Locksbottom to its former glory after being vacant for far too long. The major refurbishment has resulted in a most beautiful venue for a quiet beer, a bit of a knees up or a fabulous brasserie meal. We have a spacious bar serving real ales and hearty bar food as well as a 100-seat brasserie serving seasonal, home-cooked food with influences from both sides of the channel. The wine list is extensive and our people are friendly and knowledgeable and keen as mustard to make sure your visit to The British Queen is everything you would want from your favourite local."

This was our third visit to The British Queen - the Sunday roast and the chicken liver parfait can’t be beaten! The service is great too - they are very good about allergies - and extensive drinks choice. The decor is nice and clearly looked after.
A favourite of ours! Brilliant welcome and service, extensive and delicious drinks and food menus, gorgeous decor and dogs welcome with their well behaved humans in the bar area with treats! I've had the pleasure to take photographs and create social media content for them a few years ago and we since come back regularly as customers and were never disappointed. Our last visit was on Christmas Day and the food was fantastic as well as service.
Adam took our Virgin Experience booking over the phone and also greeted us on arrival. The restaurant had a very pleasant ambience and Adam explained the menu to us, including how they are a collection of the chef's favourites. He clearly has a deep passion and knowledge of the dishes offered, how they are cooked and the ingredients. The menu offered a good choice of starter, main and desserts and we were invited to order a drink to start. All of the courses surpassed our expectations and were served promptly after each course. The attention to detail of each component of each dish was amazing as was the presentation and offered a real change to other cuisines. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you Adam for a great meal and service.

Great roast dinner not crowded and full safety observed. I have my dog and she was very well treated too. Disabled access and garden area.
I was very lucky to have been treated to a lovely meal and drinks at this fabulous establishment. The food was sublime. I went for a good ol' burger and chips...what I got was just this but top, top level! I pimped mine a little which you'll get the offer to do bacon and cheese, as you should and can't remember having a better burger meal in years! The food and the actual venue are awesome but it's important to say that the staff absolutely take to an even higher level. So friendly and welcoming. The Canadian gentleman so sorry, we didn't catch your name!, was an amazing host and the rest of the staff were so attentive. Would definitely go back.
Quality seasonal ingredients, skilfully and imaginatively combined, cooked well and at a reasonable price. Service quiet and assured. Not sure how much better it gets. A bit of a gem I would say.
Fabulous Sunday lunch today. All three courses were gorgeous - the crab Bon-bons and roast beef were very, very good. We have eaten here before because I have always loved the interiors and ambience but food wise this was our best visit yet. Great friendly service too and we look forward to returning.
Dropped in for a quick drink, having not visited before it was a pleasant surprise! It's a lovely pub which has been beautifully decorated and the bar staff were super friendly. We would certainly return and perhaps try the food.
Fabulous food and amazing staff.They went above and beyond for our special requests.I highly recommend this place. Well worth a visit for a cosy lunch or dinner.
