Good pub food nothing special. Beef bit tough. Turkey lovely.
Have To leave a 5 star review for this visit to the venue as we were here for Christmas Dinner. Starters were served and were really good and the main Christmas Dinner was the usual three meat roast carvery with extra Christmas vegetables. It was still very enjoyable. The staff were even gracious enough to put together a carry out for a member of the family that couldn't make it because of medical reasons. Even on a normal day the food here is a good carvery. There's ample space for car parking and I've never not been able to park up. The toilets are always clean and presented well. There's also a smoking area round the back of the venue that has been recently fenced off, I'm assuming so you don't need to walk through smokers to get to the car Park.
Nice, friendly and pleasant staff. Seemed a nice enough bar. Food was expensive for the quality and portion size, wasn't awful, just nothing special. It did arrive very quickly and it was relatively busy. The coffee tasted like it was in a dirty cup though greasy aftertaste The carvery looked nice and fresh. Maybe if I decide to visit again I'll try that
We attended tonight for a carvery only to be told that they had sold out! First time this has ever happened, and we are regular attenders. No matter, the ultimate burger was very nice as was the braised beef. Made a nice change from the carvery! Only loses one star as it was very, very dark inside.
Carvery is not even average, roast potatoes were rock hard and inedible that was with gravy soaked in them its like they had been stood there all day and not refreshed. The prices have gone up and the atmosphere and the staff have gone down hill would not return.
We have had two functions here in tthe last few months and all of the staff with special mention to Ashley and Emily were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was lovely, plentiful and of good quality and guests enjoyed both the carvery and main courses from the menu. We have no hesitation in spreading the word and recommending the Bridgewater Hotel to our friends and colleagues. Thanks so much.
Fish and chips was delicious, and big. My GF and daughter usually chose the carvery and always enjoy it. One thing wrong with this place is the bar, you have to queue with everyone ordering food even if you only want a drink and sometimes it can take a while.
Popped in for lunch a couple of months ago. 4 of us all ordering food. Great menu with a large choice of meals. Good large portion sizes. Nowadays it’s nice to pay £10/£12 for a meal and actually feel full after you’ve eaten. Keep up the good work Bridgewater, will definitely return in the future.
Amazing meal and excellent price. Nice atmosphere, helpful staff and comfortable clean surroundings. Carvery toddlers eat free and childs portions only £2! As affordable as take away but much more enjoyable and no clearing up to do afterwards!
Great place to eat and drink with no mither and plenty of room inside and out. Lovely staff too... We had 2 carveries and 2 drinks for under £24 on a bank holiday Monday. The carvery doesn't have as much choice as the Toby carveries and doesn't have as much taste either so was a bit bland in comparison. Will definatley go back and try something off the main menu as that will probably be much better.
