The Bottle Kiln
"A unique converted former pottery housing an independent cafe and lifestyle shops. All food in the cafe is freshly prepared; we serve brunches, lunch, coffee, cake and afternoon tea, with a beautiful Tranquil Garden for eating outside. Our shops stock homewares, jewellery, cards, clothing and accessories. A family business since 1985."

First time visit to this coffee venue. It's well set out, extremely popular, and the snacks look amazing although resisted trying one!. Coffee tasted great and was presented well. Would have liked a choice of cup sizes however. They also have shops for you to browse around including a card section. Shop appears pricey, but can see why it's a popular choice for many people overall.
Researching places in the area, this came up a lot. On Saturdays they are trying new events in the evenings. On our visit , from 4-7 they were serving platters and pizzas with 2 for £10 cocktails. Food portions were enormous which is recommend they cut down, or share food for sure! But the food was lovely and very good value for money. On this site there are also a couple of shops selling things from homewares to jewellery. The tranquil garden was unexpected and beautiful, with detail down to the raked stones.
Very good, quality tasting, hot coffee; really excellent choice of nice cakes. Pleasant room to sit in too.
Wow what a lovely place to visit! Smashing little shop that’s full of interesting and delightful items. Christmas decorations are splendid as you walk through to the huge cafe where there are cakes galore. We had the coconut and vanilla cream scones, which were delicious, washed down with a wonderful latte. Staff are very pleasant and polite and it was very busy, being half term. Good car parking, with extra parking available at the church next door. Altogether a really lovely experience and will definitely be back to try a different cake! Highly recommended.
I didn't book a friend did we had afternoon tea an for £20 per person I wouldn't of paid it as defo not worth it not enough variety I'd of perfered less quiche an add chips or fries or coleslaw an crisps not even salad sad really was disappointed cakes a bit boring as well in my opinion
I'm never ever disappointed eating here. The food is super tasty, but I always go for the quiche as it's amazing, this time was no exception! Ham and pepperoni this time and I wasn't disappointed. I was a little indulgent and had a chocolate milkshake too. Again lovely. My wife had the sausage and leek pie and our friend had carrot and corriander soup with a cheese scone. Again all excellent. I totally recommend this place!
Polite friendly staff, lovely products but was a little disappointed with the food. I had Basil and Tomato soup which came with two large slices of granary bread. The bread was very nice but the tomato soup was a little thin and very spicy. Had the staff explained that it was spicy tomato soup I would not have chosen that option. Perhaps the menus and chalk boards should give a clearer description of the foods available
This is a beautiful cafe with a lovely atmosphere, amazing cakes and excellent quality food and service. The attached gift shop sells the most beautiful things. Perfect for any occasion! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
A great stylish place for shopping, meeting and eating. The food here is superb! I have never tasted such a delicious homemade quiche. To be fair all the food is of a high standard and the restaurant is run like clockwork. The lady who seems to be in charge is very efficient. There are 2 nice gift shops on site with clothes, jewellery, cards and all sorts of attractive offerings. There is also a beautiful garden and outside seating with a peaceful zen like feel. Highly recommend this lovely place.
One of many small business cafes in the area. True to form, it serves excellent quiche and cakes. It also has a gift shop with a good mix of pottery, candles, soaps, games, unique jewellery etc.Food: 5/5
