A beautiful window display made me yearn to visit
Currently selling second hand books outside as well as a wide range of plays inside, with hand sanitizer available. I didn't know this theatre existed before, hope it can recover so I can go someday.
Walk through the small book shop stocked with books on plays and dramatic instruction. Excellent tiny auditorium, 32 seats. If you get the chance go and see a play and enjoy the experience.
Excellent source of play texts and books on acting and theatre criticism. Large section of Arden Shakespeare. Occasionally have a table of cheaper books. Theatre at the back has not been in use when I've been, but is in operation, and I think seats about twenty. A good place to drop by before the Old or Young Vic.
A nice selection of books and a really cosy theatre room!
Nice little bookshop with knowledgeable staff if you come unstuck with what you're looking for. There's also a stage in the back for possibly a small show. I haven't explored that side of things to give full info, but I do know they host auditions there.
Utterly wonderful! Excellently curated books and plays AND has an amazing little theatre in the back - right in the face of the funded-leviathan Young Vic Theatre across the road. A must-visit place.
