Took my 12 year old dyslexic son in to get a book for school. He needed a novel for English but we had no idea where to start. We were completely nervous and anxious about a suitable book for him. The guy behind the counter was incredible he was so helpful. Dyslexic himself, he was able to suggest a book that was interesting and not intimidating. He was so understanding and supportive. It was such a huge relief for us. We picked up an amazing book and my son is so encouraged now to read it. Hoping this is the start of a better relationship with books for us. Thank you.
Such poor service. Ordered books beginning of july. I didn’t receive them till end of august. They were sitting in the shop when I arrived in after being told the shipment was delayed. They don’t answer their phones or reply to emails. Still a book short and unable to tell me when it’ll be in stock. Everyone in my daughters class already has the book. My first time ordering from book haven and most defiantly my last.
I ordered school books in Book Haven in 2021 and my experience was very good. What a difference a year makes. I ordered books early July 2022 thinking I had left plenty of time but the Knocklyon shop are not returning emails, answering their phone etc and my son starts school tomorrow. Dreadful customer service and once I finally receive my order, whenever that may be, I won't be giving them my business again
Impossible to get through the phone, no responce to emails or voice message. Never mind to get a call back as promissed in store. Cannot remeber how many times have to driving down to check if the order is ready for colletion, or if a book is in stock. You will be lucky to get a book you want 1 out 10 times drive downn. It takes me half hour to drive down to the shop, can the shop owner/staffs be mindful of other people's time, cost, .... show some respect....
Hello, I was in Book Haven Knocklyon for the first time last week, my son is entering 1st Year in Secondary school and I wasn't aware that books have to be purchased separately by parents, I was used to the rent book scheme in Primary school. I felt under pressure as I was away in the summer to visit my family in Italy but the school sent the booklist only in middle of July so I thought that I wouldn't get the books for my son on time, he is starting school on the 25th of August already! Alison, the shop assistant, was super helpful and kind, she even let me oark my bike inside the shop as I forgot my lock. Alison found for me half of the school books available on that day, she patiently wrapped them all, which I really suggest to pay that extra Euro to wrap your kids' school books. I handled my list and Alison got me most of everything my son needs for his 1st Year. I'm waiting for few other books to get back in stock, I really recommend Book Haven in Knocklyon, small book shop but fully equipped and you can get there all the stationery materials too. Thank you Alison, see you again soon. Kind regards, Paola
Appalling, avoid at all costs. My order took so long I had to cancel it. They haven’t refunded my money, they don’t answer the phone, you can’t leave a message, don’t respond to emails.
Always a great experience in book haven thanks to all the lovely staff
Great service, familiar with school books Wendy
Terrible.. I am a student and I found a part-time job, I had to print documents in 1 hour. My USB didn't work on the printer. I asked them may I send you the documents via email and could you print them? They said no. I had to buy a new USB from there, 8GB USB is for 9€! It is normally 4€ from other market!! I'm surprised because it is very easy to print the document from computer after I sent them with email , but they didn't! It is better to buy a printer and you print instead of being overcharged in these kind of stationaries. Also it is better to buy the products online instead of the stationaries. Lesson learned.
Ordered books on the 26th of August and still awaiting to receive them over a week later, I understand that it is a busy time for them but they refuse to answer a phone had to go up in person to the shop and queue for an hour to find out when my order will be ready as like I said they refuse to answer the phone, first time using this store and very bad experience, will use schoolbooks. ie in future never had a problem with them
