What a fantastic place! We came as a group of four for dinner on a Saturday night, having heard good reviews since it was taken over by the Marco Pierre White chain, and we were not disappointed! The menu was fresh, varied, seasonal and exciting (we all said we could happily choose anything from the menu). We had a variety of muscles and beef bourguignon between us for mains which were absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive and the bill was appropriate for the standard you are getting, but still not extortionate. If you're expecting pub prices, you'll get a shock, but think fine dining and you'll be pleased. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend!

Very nice lunch. We had cod and stuffed aubergine. Plenty of parking space and good setting. Highly recommend the set menu.

Lovely selection of alcohol and a warm, friendly team of staff. However the food is very pricey for the portion size. £3.90 for four padron peppers, really!?

Three of us had the roast dinner and it filled plates and tummies, I had the fish curry which was set out in a minimalist artistic design that filled neither. Waiting staff still fulfilled the basic roll of moving items from one location to the other, lesson two required.

Finally the Black Horse nails it! After years of refurbs, new management and fluctuating food quality - they have finally got it right. Excellent decor, ambience and service. The menu is great - and the food is creative and very tasty.
