We got married at the Black Horse Inn and the end of September and it was perfect. The team were all amazing, dietary requirements were listened to, discussed and met. We were able to have tastings too, the food was amazing every time. Lydia and her team did an amazing job the whole way through planning and on the day. The DJ acknowledged our requests and kept the dancefloor full all night. We had a couple of hiccups with our room but they were all sorted promptly. Highly recommend even just for a meal, but particularly for a Wedding.
Nice pub with rooms. The building is very old and has exposed oak beams, uneven walls and a lot of character. There is a beautiful courtyard with lovely hanging baskets in full bloom. Tasty breakfast despite my egg being overcooked. My room was the smallest one Jockey, but the single bed was fine even though I'm over 6 foot tall. The floor slopes towards the window which means that the bed also slopes down towards the head end which isn't great. The ensuite was very small and it was difficult to wash my face in the tiny sink without banging my head on the glass shelf above the sink. Shower head was a bit low for someone my height, but I was still able to have an adequate shower. It was good value for the area and I would definitely recommend it to others despite the few niggles.
A pleasant country pub/restaurant with rooms in Clifton on the outskirts of Brighouse. Lovely interior decor with a modern rustic feel. We were in the Burgundy bedroom, in the building next to the pub, which was a large and bright room with a low traditional beam running through the middle, I am 5'5" and could just walk under it, but my 6' husband had to remember to duck, it had a large king sized bed and a lovely white tiled bathroom with shower, which all looks new. However, there were several things broken, ie. The toilet seat, the tap was loose, the lock on the small wardrobe door was hanging off and was difficult to close. There was Lakeland coffee maker and 4 pods but we were unable to get hot water for the tea bags or sachets of coffee. I mentioned this to the proprietor and she arranged for a kettle to be left in the bedroom, however, this only worked if you kept your finger on the button. I was also slightly disappointed with the breakfast. We ordered a vegetarian breakfast with mixed brown and white toast. It took quite a while to be served, despite it not being busy, the tea was only look warm, not hot, and I had to ask for the toast, which the waitress got wrong. I also thought the portion size was small and the vegetarian sausages were cheap ones. I noticed that the waitresses were not very attentive, not clearing dirty dishes away, letting people sit with dirty dishes piled up instead of removing them once finished, not checking if customers needed anything etc etc. Although it was a lovely place and the staff were friendly, things need to be tightened up, both in the rooms and the staff training. I don't think it was worth £129 per night as it is.
We stumbled across this beautiful pub after visiting a friend and called in for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and the waitress was super nice - 100% recommendedService: 5/5
This place is so lovely with vintage vibes. I came as a makeup artist for a bridal party. The rooms were very big and spacious yet cosyRooms: 5/5
We booked to stay on a Sat night after a wedding locally. Website looked good but sometimes in the flesh things are not as good. This is definitely not true of The Black Horse and Bert's Rooms. Such a friendly welcome, very accommodating as we arrived earlier than check in and shown to a very lovely room. Clean as a whistle, towels, robes, slippers, kettle AND nespresso coffee machine with all trimmings. Huge bed, gorgeous en-suite. We were well impressed! Breakfast in morning was waitress served, plenty of choice, well cooked and presented. Great value for money all round. The owners clearly know how to run a pub with rooms professionally, hospitably and successfully. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

I have visited a couple of times now for Sunday lunch. I have always found the the staff welcoming & friendly. Always doing their best to accommodate your needs. The Sunday lunch on the occasions that I have been, has been beautiful. Vegetables fresh, meat tender. I hove to say a big Thank you to Jane, who went out of her way to accommodate our seating arrangements on Sunday. Thank you. We’ll definitely be back.
