Delicious, big portions of food at seriously good value which not common these days. Got the double buttermilk chicken burger and chicken kebab, both such big portions we struggle to finish, and glad we didn't order starters. Really friendly and helpful service, not the pretend friendly type, it's sincere as the staff would offer you help like you just step into a family cafe. Never a fan of chains, but this branch of a chain changed my mind.
Unbelievably rude member of staff behind the bar. First time I have ever walked out of a restaurant without even being served. We were clearly stood in the queue as per the signage when she shouted as us to "go stand in the queue" When I asked if I was not already in the queue she responded "no, you're just stood in the way" She wanted us to move 2 feet to the right to clear the way for absolutely no one coming through. Moving to where she said would have made no difference either... Never mind, we found a lovely little pub 5 minutes away, which was fantastic.
Needed somewhere for dinner before the long drive home after a busy day at Eureka with the kids. All of the staff members were really friendly throughout, the food came quickly and each meal was delicious, a good sized portion and reasonably priced. Lots of choices on the menu too. It was quite busy Wednesday but not packed, so a nice atmosphere. With chains in general they can often be a bit lacklustre, however we were very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience at the Armytage Arms. Will be back again next time we are out that way.
We went in for late lunch. Bingo was starting and it was very full. Nevertheless a table for four was cleared and prepared. The fish and chips were excellent. Well cooked and good value. Two of the party were vegetarians and also found a good offering to suit their requirements.Food: 5/5

Had the most amazing food here at The Armytage Arms today! I made it quite a complicated order but all came out as asked and was absolutely delicious. They also had a huge party in the back room. Thank You Tom, Harlie, Jared and all the team Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and they always managed to cater for my needs
I eat out every night because I live on my own and although I can cook I can't see the point when I'm fortunate to have this establishment more or less on my doorstep. The food is excellent value for money and the staff are very friendly, from ordering to being served really quick. I intend to be a regular by that I mean every night for my tea, highly recommend recommend it
Very friendly welcome. Excellent menu choice. Mixed grill was perfectly cooked. Chicken fajitas equally good. Great service - tasty food. Lovely environment
Just goes to show that if you employ the right people that genuinely care about their customers just how good you can make a chain pub. Well done Armytage Arms for being the leaders in this area. Excellent food, great price, great portion size and most importantly for us piping hot So many pubs get this wrong, you don't. Great meal out for tea, we popped in unexpectedly not booked but you accommodated us no issues. We all had burgers, all Excellent quality Would have liked to had a pudding but we were stuffed
A very average meal. Went for my birthday with family as heard so many good things about it but quite disappointed. All ordered steak Our first choice they had run out of 2 of the steaks full of gristle and waiter just said yes sometimes we get them they do have gristle in them! Puddings were nice. Meals brought quickly but overall disappointed as expected better.
