Had lunch. The , quality, preparation, presentation and service were all excellent. Very generous portions. All in a lovely setting overlooking the lake. Will definitely be back .
Myself and my partner travelled an hour round trip to come for food as we had seen so many good reviews. We did not make a reservation for the restaurant which is our mistake. When we arrived we spoke to the owner who told us it was a 40 minute wait for a table, we were happy to wait as it had already taken us 30 minutes to get there. Fortunately, the manager of the restaurant managed to squeeze us in within 5 minutes of us being told there would be a wait. I ordered a carbonara which was nice. My partner ordered the pan seared lamb which the waitress then took to the kitchen and came back to tell us there was no Hake, which is a completely different meal, my partner then confirmed that he had ordered lamb and the waitress then said oh sorry the lamb. We then waited 25 minutes for our order. My order was correct however they brought my partner pan seared Hake which he is not what he ordered. The waitress apologised and said that it was her fault and she would take this back and ask the kitchen to make Lamb. She then must’ve spoken to the kitchen and the restaurant manager as he came over and tried to make out that my partner has ordered the Hake, which he then again explained what had happened with the waitress and that he does not like fish and would prefer to have them make the lamb. The manager changed his tune and said it will take too long to make the lamb you can have a pizza instead and brought the menu back over. My partner did not want to have a pizza and felt pressured to have this meal as we were told the kitchen would be closing soon. However, I don’t understand that if we were to have waited the 40 minutes for the table and we had ordered the lamb and carbonara then the kitchen would’ve been open as this whole interaction happened within 40 minutes of us being seated…so he blatantly lied to our faces. I was extremely disappointed with the service and would not recommend coming here for a date night. This experience completely ruined our night and I was extremely annoyed for the rest of the date night. My partner still kindly paid the £50 bill. If I was him I would’ve refused to pay for the poor standard of service. He paid for the pizza he was practically forced to order as he was so hungry he ate it anyway. I am appalled at the blatant lies and trying to spin this issue on the customer. I will not go back to this eatery again.
Called in for lunch at this superb location overlooking Cromwell Lake. Just a few minutes from the centre of Brighouse towards Elland, but seems a world away with the view over the water. Service was good and the food excellent. Not the first time we've been here and won't be the last.
We had our wedding reception here, all staff were magnificent couldn't fault them. The scenes of the lake really made it. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you Rooms: The venetian blinds let a bit too much light in, even with an eye mask on. Other than that, very happy
What a wonderful experience 10th October greeted by Mia and Ella, went out of their way to make us happy and they did , way and beyond, just loved there charisma so good at what they do at work thank you both ,and massive thanks for upgrading us to a lovely room imad the manager was fantastic, this place has everything wonderful experience and I'm definitely coming back 5 star all day long JJ

Been a blot on the landscape for years. Doesn't need new owners, needs bulldozing. Let the nearby residents have some well deserved peace after years of trouble and turmoil.
Excellent food including breakfast & the staff were really helpful BUT management need to be more aware of what staff are past over information wise or staff need to take more notice as 2 different members of staff knew nothing about the wedding going on & that some guests would be ordering food & drink pre paid for, I was also told what the bill was when all I had asked for were my drinks? Not that I'd come to settle the bill, very confusing & also stressful as I'd then been working for quite some time & simply wanted to go to bed. I was there for the wedding but as I was also working I had phoned the previous day to confirm I'd be there from 10.45am & would the room be ready, I was assured yes & due to circumstances I impressed on it or I could have travelled a little later. The room wasn't ready so my job was already made very difficult, around 1/2 an hour later I was asked if I wanted another room to be made up, I confirmed it was big enough to take a travel cot, I was assured yes but it wasn't, at least not for myself & my guest to be able to move easily between the tiny en suite & the bedroom & us also having a case & rucksacks & being able to easily open & close the window. There was also a portable heater as well as a fixed wall heater in the room so assumably the fixed heater needed a plumber? I couldn't move the portable as the travel cot was up & in use, very annoying. The tap was also fixed back to front so H was actually cold & C was hot, I was also sober just in case anyone reading was wondering. This was room 2, the mattress needs urgently replacing & a mirror needs fitting in the bathroom. Food & drinks: I past my compliments over to the bar staff for the chef.
Very nice first time visiting but will return the staff and management we're very nice and friendly.Rooms: 5/5
