I recently visited The Black Dog Pub, and I absolutely loved it! The desserts were delicious—definitely some of the best I’ve had. The vibe of the place is so inviting and cozy, making it the perfect spot to relax with friends. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Plus, the drinks were spot on! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for tasty treats, good vibes, and great service. I’ll definitely be back! I tried their nachos, sweet potato fries as well, they tasted heavenly but I forgot to take pictures.
I ordered the steak and kidney pie. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately it was over-salted. But the other dish we ordered, a stuffed chicken breast, was 5 stars all around! I brought up the concern about my dish to the waitress; she initiated contact with the owner. Even though it was his day off, he came to our table to apologize and gave us a gift voucher for next time. This is how a business should operate to keep and make new customers. Very impressed with the way they handled the situation! Will come back the next time we’re in the area to try the fish and chips!
Birthday date night for #TheBeautifulSarah. Surprised her with dinner at The Black Dog Pub. Can't tell you how happy we are with our meal. It was super fantastic. I had the Reuben and Sarah had the Fish and chips. Was so impressed. Not only was the food amazing our Server Susan was even better. She just made our first experience that much better. Thank you so much Susan for making it special for Sarah and myself. Highly recommend this place you won't regret it. We sat pub side.
We decided to celebrate a grand birthday at this British pub because it had great reviews. We all had never been there before so we had to choose carefully. I recommend making reservations here because they do get busy. The service was fast and friendly. We managed to get a nice table facing the fireplace in the main dining area which was fantastic. I had the salmon and loved it. My man had the ravioli and he absolutely loved it. My step dad had the pork tenderloin and loved that. And my step mom had the maui maui fish and gobbled that all up. Then we all had the brownie peanut butter cheesecake which was marvelous I also walked around and checked out the covered heated patio which was warm and quite nice too and a fireplace and next time I may even sit in there too. We all collectively agreed that we would come back again. I recommend it. So give this pub a try.
Amazing service, we had a really large group and our server was fantastic. Very chill vibes, the patio is nicely set up. Can be a bit busy and loud depending on what else is going on! Would definitely come back.Food: 4/5
Lovely space this, was packed even on a Wednesday night. The food portions are massive and great value for money. I loved the pork schnitzel and the prawn gratinee starter we had. My friends ordered a Ruben sandwich and Fish n chips, tried a bit and they were great too. The cocktails here are pretty potent and they also have a decent whisky selection. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again
Lovely place. But if it's a nice day out I wish they would have the plastic windows off the front. It would be nice if they could clean it so you can see outside. They were filthy.Food: 4/5
Friend's birthday. Chose the covered patio for lunch - started with a "Dogtini" and a "Negroni" from their drink menu followed by Cobb Salad and Steak Sandwich. All excellent! Wonderful service. The Pub treated us to an apple crisp birthday dessert including a candle! Busy pub - plenty of parking and more close by. Inside atmosphere is cozy, neighborhood bar/pub.
Stopped by for a Thursday lunch. We had a lamb burger and an order of fish and chips. The burger was juicy, the fish was large, not overly greasy and the fries were excellent. Overall the food was great, not a single complaint. I have eaten here in the past, and had a similar experience today. I don't know if it's a sense of humour that doesn't sit well with me or something different.... Today one of the servers scolded us for not using a coaster under one of our drinks. It made me feel uncomfortable and put a damper on my experience. The food I've had here has always been great, the service has been cringy at times.
Came here on a Wednesday night; it was packed full of people! We ordered the baked brie as an appetizer. The price has gone up over the years; years ago it was $12, then $14, and has now gone up to $18. I can understand the costs of inflation but expected a bigger brie at this price as it comes with a small wheel of it. Delicious nonetheless. For our mains, we ordered the Yorkie and the cottage pie. The Yorkie roast beef was truly delicious and it was a filling meal. The cottage pie was good, your run of the mill shepherds pie. Gravy for the fries/pie was an extra charge. The brie took a long time to get to us, but the mains came pretty quickly. With how busy it was, we could not complain about the service. What did leave us somewhat miffed is that we were told, as we received the bill, that the card machine was unfortunately not working and we would have to take cash out of the on site ATM. I'm willing to give the benefit of a doubt here and say maybe the machine only stopped working when it came time for us to pay, but otherwise I would have appreciated a warning prior to ordering all of our food. We thankfully had cash so we didn't need to get up and use the ATM, but it was inconvenient when we had been hoping to pay using cards. Overall an upscale pub atmosphere with good food, fairly priced.
