I have lived there for 1 year. New River who own the building are wanting to know if anyone can run the Pub better. they want everyone out of the building by 26th Nov 17

Don't bother staying here!!! Absolutely disgusting, dirty and horrible place!! Dust everywhere, peeling paint from the ceiling, peeling wallpaper, no light in the bathroom, mould in the shower!! Myself and partner came down for a weekend of family celebrations and booked to stay here, the second night was absolutely ruined as the ceiling leaked and covered my partners clothes in water, resulting in him having to wear the same clothes that he had done the night before. The only thing I can't fault was the member of staff that I complained to, we were given a full refund for the 2 nights and were allowed to stay there, were given towels and black bags to put all the wet stuff in to take home Do not be fooled by the pictures on the site as the rooms are NOTHING like what they look like, no tea/coffee facilities I've had to rate it as a 1 star to get it to post, but I definitely wouldn't if i didn't have to

The Black Bear won't be offering rooms after the summer. The employees are all very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and the location is convenient to everything in Wareham.

Lovely original proper English pub. Friendly staff, good reasonably priced food.
