I’ve visited The Bird in Hand twice this week, and both experiences have been absolutely wonderful. The pub offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with friends or enjoying a good meal. On my visits, I tried their pizza and a selection of small plates—everything was delicious and really well-made. The service was equally impressive; the waitresses were attentive, welcoming, and kind, ensuring everything arrived quickly and smoothly. I’m genuinely amazed by the consistently high quality across the board, from the food to the service. I can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!
Absolutely delightful atmosphere. One of the prettiest pub-restaurants in W14. Beautiful on the exterior and interior. Fish was slightly too salty but staff were quick to remedy the problem. Really great team that work here too. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian pizza options.
An amazing little pub hidden just a quick walk away from Shepherd’s Bush. Had a pork belly Sunday roast. Didn’t expect the skin to be so crispy and the veggies were delicious! I loved the Yorkshire pudding but it was my first time having it. Great first dinner experience in London!!!Food: 5/5
What a great find this was, late on a Saturday evening we managed to get great food, lovely drinks and the atmosphere was fantastic, best playlist I've heard for a long time as well. Will go again if I'm in the areaFood: 5/5
One of the best pizza in the neighbohood for me. If you like thin and crunchy pizza, then you'd be very happy. I had the zucchini with truffle which was fabulous. The staff was lovely and considering we were a group of 9 people, the service managed our orders really well. Will definitely go back and try the rest of the menuFood: 5/5
As my belly was a-rumbling, we arrived at this cosy restaurant, ready for some cheesy, doughy delicious to enter our mouths, but alas something was anew. The small plates menu was awash with new and varied dishes that immediately caught my eye. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the updated menu and delivered some top notch choices for us. The octopus was cooked to perfection with a mouthwatering sauce, the prawn gnocchi was a delight as the flavours were tingling on my tongue, and the sweet potato wellington was the most mouth-watering and flavourful vegetarian dish I’ve had in years. As for the drinks, the festive mint chocolate martini was a devine cocktail concoction. What made the place was the ambience and staff. The staff with exceptional information about the items they sell as well as their positive attitude added to the warm, cosy but cool vibe to this place. Safe to say, I came for a White Russian, but I stayed for the hot Bulgarian. 5/5 would recommend to all the friends Vegetarian options: Absolutely devine vegetarian options available! I’m not a veggie but I love both the sweet potato wellington and the asparagus pizza Dietary restrictions: Large selection of gluten free pasta/pizza options
I've been a few times before and it's usually fine, but experience today was very poor and would probably not go back. Our food took ages to come and we chased it but the waitress didn't even bother to come back with an update. I had to get up to go and ask, and again, no update just a further 10 min wait as tables that ordered after us were receiving their food. We had the roast beef lunch and it was really poor - chewy meat, undercooked tiny potatoes and a defrosted Yorkshire Pudding. Then ordered a glass of wine that never arrived. A very over-priced bill was the final blow for the experience, with no discount offered or any acknowledgement.
There I was minding my own business, walking the streets of west London when I stumbled on this magical restaurant from another world. The octopus was omnipotent, the wine was whimsical, the pizza was premium, the ragu was radical, the tiramisu left tears in my eyes, and the service was absolutely scrumptious. If you’re anywhere in the Greater Britain area I highly recommend you skip down to brook green and pop a squat at this diamond in the rough! Thank you, bye
This place is a local favourite! Cozy atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food. Pizzas are very good, as are the selection of small plates which we usually like to share, tapas style. My personal favourites include the aubergine-wrapped goats cheese, mushroom risotto, and padron peppers with rock salt. The music choice is tasteful and is pitched at the right volume---clearly audible without overpowering unstrained conversation. The service staff are friendly and attentive, and have an impressive habit of taking orders faultlessly from memory. Highly recommend!
Went there with a friend for the Sunday roast. The chicken and lamb both tasted well. There were only few customers at that time, but the service was fast and friendly. From the inside it seems more like a restaurant than a pub. From the outside it is just a beautiful location and very inviting pub.
