I purchased a bike they refurbished and afterwards went to another place to fit a rack as the bike was a bit special and needed customised one. At the bike place they praised the bike to be really good and well put together so it's not only my word that they sell great bikes but also professional opinion from a very trusted source. People working at the bike project are friendly and super helpful. If you are thinking about getting a lovely bike with some meaning go straight to them.

Great service, lovely people and an amazing organisation that genuinely makes a difference! I bought a bike from the website after having tried one in the shop that was too small. I waited a while for the perfect bike to come up online and snapped it up when it did! The service was incredible, they told me which mudguards to buy and fitted them for me and then James cycled the bike over to my house because I didn't feel confident enough to ride it from Herne Hill myself or assemble it out of a box. When I visited the shop on a Thursday evening it was a hive of activity with loads of different people coming to pick up their bikes and a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere. From an environmental perspective I wanted a second hand bike and this company is great because you can be sure that you aren't buying a stolen bike and that you're helping others with your purchase.

These guys are fantastic. Great service with really helpful and friendly staff. I wish I would have found this store years ago rather than wasting money in large chain stores that give nothing back to the community. Everyone at the bike project was so nice.

I've volunteered on their Thursday evenings "fix a bike session" and found the atmosphere of camaraderie, compassion and sharing of experiences, uplifting and totally positive. If you want to make new friends, learn a little about the world and get some practical bicycle mechanics skills, come along. It's a welcoming and jolly space.
