Lovely little place. We arrived early but that wasn't a problem, the young lady checking bookings in let us choose a table as at that point they were pretty quiet, although they soon started getting busy. I had a small carvery, hubby had a regular. The food was lovely, cooked to perfection, the pigs in blankets were lush..... The gingerbread latte was amazing. Highly recommended for a quiet meal and drink.
I Don't want to Review this place because it's so good, The food is excellent and varied, carvery and pizza are our favourites. Reasonably priced too. The Staff are friendly and the place has a warm county pub feel. Now I've told you about it it's obviously going to get busy, fortunately I can book a table via their easy to use app. Hopefully I can get a table now I've told you all about it. Tell them Gary sent you if you go, No it won't get you any discount but I would be interested in the response. Please let me know.
Amazing! Great staff & great food! We ate here 3 evenings on our holiday,had the 2 for 1 pizza & they were big and delicious. Had the carvery & so good,then last meal was the fish and chips meal deal with pud,just amazing. These guys or girls can cook & best book a table as very popular. Add the app or sign up for great deals. We also had the buffet breakfast with tea and coffee & it was great! Everything is freshly cooked so expect 30 to 40 minute wait for menu meals when busy but worth the wait.
Good standard of food also at a good price point. The alcohol was quite cheap which is aways a plus. The food was also of a good standard despite being cheap. The only down side to this restaurant is the online ordering system is very faulty, I’d recommend to order at the bar. They also have a park out front for children
Not been here since b4 lock down. It was August Bank Holiday at 12:30 so it was getting very busy. Was greeted by a lovely young ladywith ginger hair and a smile from ear to ear who seated us accordingly. We ordered drinks first then sat and decided what to eat The 61 Deep pale ale is a nice pint for the craft ale lovers as we ordered we were told that there was a 30 min wait for food which I thought was reasonable for how busy it was. When food arrived within the 30 min time we tucked in enjoying everything. I would highly recommend this pub as the staff were all fantastic especially front of house food was great and reasonably priced.
Great atmosphere very friendly staff and the carvery was probably the best one I've had ... this place is an absolute must visit 100% you won't be disappointed infact we went back the day after!
Really outstanding carvery. Everything correctly cooked and about the best roast potatoes to be found anywhere. Really outstanding value too and a well kept venue with very pleasant staff. We will go out of our way to return here in the future. This is the first restaurant that I have ever felt inclined to leave a review for in fact.
The best breakfast I've had in many years. Beautifully cooked and presented. Very very tasty food. I'm not usually one for taking pictures of my food but I would definitely have taken one to show you. Somehow a snap of empty plates doesn't really work. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will be coming back again soon
Went here with my partner last night as she wanted a carvery, I had a Margherita pizza with jalapenos. The 'Stonehouse Pizza' is a big selling point for the restaurant, with the fresh pizza charging quite a lot all things considered, pizzas typically £12. The pizza took a while to come out, whilst I watched my partner eat her carvery, which is odd as stonebaked pizza should take no longer than 10 minutes. My partner enjoyed hers but it was nothing to rave about, limited to one Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes not tasting crispy at all. My pizza was quite dry, probably overdone, and was not worth the cost. Besides these comments, as niche as they are, the most DIABOLICAL thing so far was the desert. After a disappointing meal, I ordered a sticky toffee pudding, looking forward to what is described as 'a home baked sticky toffee pudding drizzled with piping hot custard and toffee sauce'. What the chef brought out to me why he brought it out I do not know was not a home baked sticky toffee pudding, but a cold packet toffee muffin, absolutely drowned in toffee and custard, which was also lukewarm. The picture doesn't do justice how sad the muffin looked on my plate, and how disappointing the 'homebaked' lie was. Would not return or recommend.
Went here for a carvery on a November evening. It wasn't too busy, I chose the beef which was quite fatty but very tender and tasty. The veg was all ok apart from the roast potatoes,very hard and pretty dry. The mashed potatoes were not available as the machine that mashes them was broken. I thought £2.90 for a small coke was extortionate to be honest. All things considered don't think I will return.
