Amazing selection of reasonably priced beers of all styles and volumes
Amazing staff, widest beer selection in Putney and wheat free beers, mead + cider too. Loads of cool events happening, especially tasting sessions.
The Beer Boutique is a fantastic bottle shop! By chance I stayed across the street from the shop during vacation in London. I wound up going into the shop everyday of my vacation! The staff, including Mark owner, Jonathan manager, and Kevin staff member, were all incredibly knowledgeable and gracious. Living in the US, I'm not able to get many of the UK and greater European beers available at the Beer Boutique. The staff was able to recommend the best ones to try to give me a true taste of the British beer experience. I was traveling with two friends who are less knowledgeable about beer but they loved trying new ones and listening to the hours of beer knowledge the staff had to offer. The shop is very unpretentious... you can just walk in and ask for help. All of the staff is more than willing to help anyone, regardless of level of beer knowledge. They keep a good selection of beers in the refrigerator for immediate consumption. The tables offer a nice place to sit and enjoy a beer. Plus, the prices are significantly cheaper than if you'd buy the same beer at a pub. Every detail of the shop has been curated. The shop does have large windows but they are covered with a UV-protective film so there's no risk of skunking beer. The lights also filter UV rays, for the same purpose. They have themed events on a regular basis which sound like a blast American beers on the 4th of July, IPA Day, etc.. I couldn't have had a better experience with the Beer Boutique and I think my highest praise is the fact that I went back every day of my vacation!
I was stunned and overwhelmed by this incredible bottle shop, and frankly rather upset that I don't live nearer. This place surely has something for everyone with beers from a pretty impressive range of beers spanning the globe and all sorts of varieties. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable to make helpful suggestions, and the tasting packs are also useful starting points or great gifts.
I visited from the US and we don't quite get the same kind of service over here, in fact I haven't ever really seen anything quite like it. First off, great selection of bottles and imports. Alfie and Co. are well versed in craft beer and had plenty of suggestions. The atmosphere makes the place unique. We loved sitting down and sharing a bottle with local folks and staff alike. I wish we had something like this on our side of the pond. We will be back! If you're going in, take a bottle to share with the staff of something out of distro. Cheers!
Great selection of beers but what knocks off two starts is the lack of visible pricing. Most of the beers are in the fridge and not priced. So you can either pester the guys working there asking for the beer prices or grab a selection of beers and hope for the best. And you're not gonna find out the prices at the checkout either as the checkout comprises of laptop and you'll get no receipt. Please make it more clear and easier for the customers - a simple labelling machine is not that expensive!
Through a feedback app, I found The Beer Boutique and discovered their great deal of 10% off all beers in return for providing feedback. What a great place and so many different beers plus a great deal too! Have told my friends so they too can take up this offer!
Good beer shop with friendly staff, an great selection of beers, both on the shelves, in the fridge and on tap! You can sit down and enjoy the beers as well. However the recent corkage fee is a bit of a bummer.
Excellent customer service. Came in for a late Christmas present, the guy read my needs perfectly. Brief acknowledgement when I came in, a casual ask if I wanted help after a few minutes and then he demonstrated his passion for beer. Describing the different beers, asking what type I want and telling me where they are from. Also great that he gave me a couple of different options price wise, so I got something in the price range I wanted to spend. I rarely drink, but when I do it is nice to have something a but niche. I will definitely revisit. I greatly appreciate this level of service.
I was very excited to find the Beer Boutique, as it is difficult to find beers from my native Colorado in London. I ordered a six pack for Valentine's Day 2014. There was a problem with the delivery, and Mark from the Beer boutique called me directly to establish what had happened. He personally delivered the package on the day before Valentine's Day, above and beyond what I could have asked. I highly recommend them and thank Mark especially for his truly excellent customer service.
