Chose beech hurst Harvester because it was convenient and fairly kid friendly. Past experiences have been mixed. This time is yet again mixed.nThe staff were absolutely amazing couldn’t have done anything more. Really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were given a table outside as there were none inside, no problem the weather was lovely and the kids could play in the park whilst we waited for the food. We ordered the food and drinks everything was fine. The food came out my wife ordered the half rotisserie chicken with hot honey sauce. There was more sauce in the plate than chicken. I ordered the chicken stacker which looked ok but the chicken was so over cooked and dry, we ordered two of the chicken burgers from the kids menu which came out as a burger bap with a small piece of overcooked chicken breast and a single lettuce leaf the chips were just about edible but yet again seemed rather over cooked and the veg sticks we were expecting maybe a selection of cucumber sticks carrot sticks pepper but it was just three sad looking pieces of cucumber, unfortunately the pudding didn’t get better the orange chocolate pot came out was literally some chocolate mouse with whipped cream squirted on top which didn’t taste of orange at all and for the kids we ordered two sundae best’s we were informed they had no chocolate sauce so we chose strawberry sauce instead no big deal. They were bought out To us in a hot not warm bowl it was just a couple of scoops of ice cream thrown in a bowl with some strawberry sauce and an ice cream cone thrown ontop. The ice cream melted Within a minute and the kids had to drink it. Just before we left my son needed the toilet, so we went to the men’s and it was absolutely disgusting there was an overwhelming smell of urine and a large amount of toilet water all over the floor with a caution wet floor sign in the middle. This was one of the bad points of our last trip to this particular harvester about six months before. On that trip we were told the toilet had just that day started leaking and the maintenance crew had been informed and they were going to be fixed that week. Well it seems either it wasn’t fixed or the fix didn’t last as it was pretty much identical to the last time. On the whole this visit was rather disappointing and has pretty much put us off using this restaurant again which is a shame as previously stated the bar and serving staff are absolutely fantastic.
We had an incredible time today! Our kids were off the rails but the staff were amazing! I want to specifically mention Cat who served us today! She was wonderful with us at the kids and she shared her love for a few films we both like. And the little drawing of the soot balls from spirited away really made us feel special!
I had a bad experience in Harvester in Brighton Marina a few months ago so I was nervous to go to another one but I thought a different town and different restaurant so might be a better experience, but my god I was wrong! We didn’t book a table so we had to sit in the bar not a problem so we ordered at the bar. When I ordered off the set menu it seemed to cause a problem because the system wasn’t working properly to make it the set menu price so it took 3 people to sort it. When we went to the salad bar it was half empty which started off the disappointment of what was to come. We waited 45 minutes for our STARTERS! My friend went up to ask where they had got to and was told yes they’re just being prepared, when they eventually came to the table my nachos looked vile, all 3 sauces were congealed and the sour cream was hot! It had clearly been sat under a heat lamp for the last half an hour, outrageous! We then waited another 40 minutes for our mains which I was worrying about after the horror show starter. When my ‘burger’ arrived I took a bite and thought ‘what is that!’ When I had a look in the burger bun, the burger was burnt to a crisp and resembled a hockey puck! I was absolutely flabbergasted at the horrendous food I had been served, luckily I wasn’t having a pudding! When I spoke to the waitress she was happy to refund which was good but she was clearly very stressed and even told her till to shut up right in front of me! My friend waited ages for her pudding too and when she asked the same waitress she said ‘oh my god’ in a very rude tone as if it was my friends fault that the service had been absolutely diabolical! Will not be returning to another harvester again as that’s now 2 ghastly experiences!
Update 22/6/26: Once again Harvester smashed it out of the park on service, value and quality. Many thanks to Pip and the rest of your excellent team. Keep up the great work.nnWe always get a friendly welcome here and on both lunch visits we received exceptionally high quality and friendly service from Cat. The food is good value and above all, the Harvester is very family friendly.nnThis is not the Harvester of 10 - 20 years ago, it has greatly improved. Just please bring back the all day breakfast.nnUpdate 01/2026: Still a friendly warm welcome here and the food is great value.nnUpdate 03/2026: Yet again, Harvester smashed it out of the park with a perfect balance of value, quality and great service. I had a wonderful mixed grill including perfectly cooked succulent chicken. The family all loved their meals. Many thanks to Luke, Ross, Danny and the rest of the team.nnUpdate 26/04/26: We came here for dinner on Sunday and had another excellent meal. James was very helpful and assisted us in making a minor alteration to the mixed grill pictured. Thanks guys, we will be back.
We had a lovely breakfast at Harvester Beech Hurst Haywards Heath. A special thank you to our waitress, Abigail, who was so friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit.nI had the breakfast bun, and it was excellent. The sausage and bacon were cooked perfectly, making it one of the nicest breakfast buns I’ve had.nThe customer service was fantastic—everything arrived quickly, and the whole team was friendly and efficient. A really enjoyable experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!
