I’m a Beatle nut and have read many biographies about this iconic band. But I still managed to learn things from the “Beatle Brain of Britain”, Richard Porter. The tour lasts 2.5 hours if you choose to go to Abbey Road and takes you to many stops around Soho before that: Carnaby Street; the London Palladium; the former Apple HQ where the group’s final rooftop concert was help; etc. Time went by fast and I learned some interesting facts about the band, and why they moved to London.
Took Richard Porter's walking tour in August 2019. Richard knows all the back stories of the various Beatles sites in London. He was definitely one of the highlights of our family trip to England. We talked about Richard's tour many times, long after we got home. Saw Abbey Road crossing, Abbey Road Studios, the site of the Rooftop Concert on Saville Row, Carnaby Street and so much more. Definitely worth the £10 per person.
My sister and I took this "Magical Mystery tour" with Richard Potter in July 2019 and for sure it was worth the inexpensive 10 GBP for the two hour tour! We didn't reserve, just show up at the allotted time see his website - different timings and meeting places for the different days of the week. We are admirers of the Beatles but not really Beatlemaniacs. Richard was easy to understand, very knowledgeable, and pointed out many famous Beatles sights, plus we got a good walking tour of the city. Abbey Road was the highlight of course! Would recommend his tour!
Richard Porter is extremely knowledgeable about the Beatles
Definitely a must for any Beatles fan. Richard is incredibly knowledgeable, made the tour fun and engaging.
We took the Beatles tour on March 16, 2019 and were a little disappointed. Richard was very knowledgeable and had nice stories to tell. However, he didn’t have a mike and it was often hard to hear. Also, at this digital age we would have expected the use of digital aids such as showing photos and short videos on a tablet and playing some of the music during the tour.
What a fantastic tour! And the guide Clive was so terrific, definitely recommended
I went on The Magical Mystery tour in 2011 and had a wonderful experience! It was my first trip to London and this tour was great! Safe, fun, excellent use of time-- neither too short or too long. Great fun for Beatles fans!
Such an awesome tour. Richard is very knowledgeable on The Beatles so is able to offer insights that a true fan knows.
Traffic catastrophe waiting to happen. Not trying to be a killjoy but...there's better outlets for beetles fans, surely
