First visit here, was okay used the app to order this is always easy, it was steak club night so great, ordered the upgraded sirloin, came with a sauce, mushroom and onion rings, partner had the large mixed grill. Food came and unfortunately for me my medium steak was a bit too rare, I usually have m/r in most places, partners meal was fantastic Spoke to the duty manager when we were about ready to go, who agreed it was a bit too bloody, he did offer a dessert but as i said we were ready to go. Possibly a one off and I was the unlucky one.
Quick Service ,pleasant environment. Only negative is not so clean doesn’t look as if the tables have been turned over a wipe down and also there’s a toast left on the floor next to the table. Good quality food for Wetherspoons
Delightful JDW pub in the centre of Penarth in what I assume is the main high Street. It might well have been a large shop previously as it has extra seating upstairs, and the layout feels like it was a store rather than a pub previously. Inside, the clientele were nicely behaved and I would say on the whole, an older crowd compared to some Wetterpants I've been in recently. Service at the bar was quick and efficient and our order of food was exactly what we asked for. We ordered some extra chips and they arrived in seconds piping hot! Lovely place, some interesting art on the walls and quite busy.
Food Lukewarm. Sauce did not arrive with food. When it arrived it looked like yesterday's gravy. Not enough staff on the bar. Steak far from best quality. Mediterranean salad best part of meal
Great local bar with good food and a good selection of beers and spirits. The pub is split over two floors with front and rear outdoor seating. There is no car park but ample on road parking outside.
Great atmosphere at the bears head and staff are very efficient and friendly. But unfortunately the standard of the food recently is very poor . I use this place to meet up with friend and have food once a week but I think we will be looking for a different place to eat in future. May they have changed cooks ?
Always polite and helpful food is good and reasonable. Good place to go for a quick cheap and cheerful meal.
Come here this evening 16th March had a Korma and rice popadoms it was delicious. Mum Had cod and musy peas, for 15pounds worth the money
As a Spoons fan, it was disappointing that there was no fish on Friday afternoon. But had to ask twice for the table to be cleaned from mess when we arrived. Should be done as a matter of course and quite simple really. Burger was good. Been back recently, great steak, good beers as ever..
Friendly, clean public house. Limited parking outside, so best arrive on foot. Quick service with great food.
