Great lunchtime food, great choice of beers. Great old pub atmosphere helped by open fires .

We went thinking it was going to be as good as Goodmanham. Very disappointing and won't be going back there to eat (the steak was full of gristle and fatty). They don't have the charisma of Vito and his wife who ho out of their way to make you feel very welcome. We parked in the car park and the Landlords wife couldn't even bring herself to say hello. Great beer and great prices, but lacking in the hospitality that Goodmanham provides.

Characterful and atmospheric pub serving great beer at an unbeatable price. Just off the main route but well worth a visit.

A proper old pub! Really lovely, a good pint and friendly staff. I didn't eat there which is why I've given it 4.
