Large shared car park so hardly any parking spaces. We got last one that wasnt coned off. Toilet lovely and clean. Cafe itself very clean and tidy. Staff pleasant and polite. No prices displayed on menus. Only price advertised was for afternoon tea. Drinks brought one at a time. Food arrived quite quickly but was only luke warm. The cheese on the toasted sandwich wasnt even melted.
Very nice building and the staff are very friendly. Car park had 6 spaces coned off so was difficult to find a space. Only has one toilet for both male and female. Food was cold when it arrived the cheese hadn't even melted and it's a good job I'm not allergic to cucumber as I asked for no salad and found some in my food. Like I say, it's a nice building with very nice staff, however the food could do with checking before it leaves the kitchen. Very nice selection of cakes there. Really going to have to try one some day. Been back since, food was nice and hot. Coffee was nice. Must have caught then on an off day. Will definitely go again. Thanks people.
Great food, freshly made, some wonderful cakes. Nice that they have themed lunches e.g. Valentines lunch with Prosecco. Staff always friendly and make you feel really welcome. Well worth a visit. Keep up the good work.
Personally I would have preferred this rating at a 3.5... The venue's historical background gives it a nice atmosphere. Staff are generally friendly and the mozzarella toasted sandwich was delicious! However the cappuccino was weak and not that great and the berry/red velvet cake I'm not sure what it was supposed to be was nothing special; pretty but could have done with cream cheese frosting rather than butter icing.
Our first secret supper and we will definitely be going again. Three courses of deliciousness chicken wings in the most amazing smokey BBQ sauce, followed by very tasty tandoori fish bites and finishing with the amazing eton mess. Plenty of food in each course, can't fault it. Brilliant company, staff are always friendly, would highly recommend.
Fantastic little café, with delicious pannins, sandwiches, toasties, teacakes etc. The latte's are gorgeous not to mention the homemade cakes & the staff are always friendly & helpful. Been here several times with different friends & all have been really impressed. Would highly recommend.
Went on Sunday and they were pushing toast and cakes. We had potato hash, one with a poached egg. It was more like soup, where the poached egg came into it I don't know. Didn't really enjoy it. When we got home we both ended up on the toilet with diarea it went straight through us thankfully. So we weren't really ill.
Nice car park that customers can't park in! Food great, service less so. Friendly enough, but forgot about one order, had to remind them. Nice interior, cakes looked nice.
The food was great, as was the service. The best thing was though that we weren't rushed when we were finished. The cakes are highly recommended. Will definitely be returning.
Like the decor. Bit disappointed with our sandwiches, should have had coleslaw and rocket but had run out of rocket but did not tell us and forgot the coleslaw which meant the sandwich dry. Brought some when I asked. Basically chicken and grated cheese. My Lancashire cheese and pickle nice but hard going. Could have done with some salad. I asked for extra hot water the tea it came in a milk jug. Perhaps we went at a bad time, was very busy and obviously popular.
