Sorry...used to be my favourite place around here...The last two visits were not as it used to be...slow service, other tables got served first and we were first in! and food not cooked properly...potatoes! Please cooked them properly! we weren't the only ones not eating them... sat near the kitchens and we could see them coming back on plates!

A bit disappointed we've waited years to treat ourselves to a meal here. The place was pretty empty but still took half an hour for food to arrive. Bacon egg sausage and chips... my sausages were burnt, chips like we could do at home. The strangest thing was the young bar staff and waiters on were so welcoming but what we guess to be the owners.. Mum Dad and maybe daughter didn't seem relaxed.. having a go at the younger staff! Why? They were lovely and welcoming.... gutted!

The prices are acceptably set and portion sizes are what you would expect of the price. The menu caters to most tastes while being able to offer something new. The alcoholic drinks offer both familiar and unfamiliar brands. The atmosphere is very nice with dim, warm lighting and the smell of food hitting you as you walk in. The staff are very friendly and offer a good service. Waiting times are acceptable considering it is all cooked fresh, usually averaging between 20 and 40 minutes. The desserts selection is wide and offers both healthy and sweet options. Most food seems to be locally and appropriately sourced. It is easy to get to being accessible from both the new and old Newton roads and has plenty of parking

Lovely anniversary lunch with hubby here. Really lovely food, I had mushroom stroganoff and hubby had unique pie of the day. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend. Thanks.

Enjoyed a meal with my grandchildren and daughter. Clean pub friendly and helpful staff. Also this pub is dog friendly. Our second time there and there will definitely be a third.
