Lovely village pub, great selection of beers, staff are all lovely and the food is great. What more could you ask for?
Lovely pub with a great Sunday roast and excellent staff
Very disappointed. We heard new management had taken over, saw the roasts were a reasonable price and thought we would have my Dads birthday meal here. The roast looks a good size, but the beef was a slab of very tough and fatty meat. Not even a steak knife offered, so he got some exercise tearing that apart! The veg was soggy and no crisp roast potatoes. The chicken was on the bone and tasteless. The duo choice of beef and chicken had the smallest piece of chicken. Tiny stuffing ball and no cranberry or redcurrant jelly. The pie is the same price and I have never seem such a small pie! ‘Chunky chips’ were oven chips and rock hard peas. :-o the pie pastry was rock hard and so dense. Hardly any filling at all. At least the little meat I did have, was well cooked. Smallest cauliflower cheese side too. Strange taste to it and hard cauliflower. Award winning sticky toffee pudding was dry. All in all, we will have to re-do Dads special meal, as that doesnt cut it.
Table for 6. Quite a long wait for the food to arrive but it was well worth the wait. It was nothing short of excellent. So delicious and plentyfull. The staff could not have been more helpful. They will definitely have to tolerate us again. Well done Barley Mow.
Made the decision last minute to have a meal here on Saturday evening, we didn’t book but the restaurant couldn’t have been more accommodating despite even more of us adding on later, food was lovely too.
Very friendly staff, good service and lovely food for the price. Really nice and relaxed atmosphere too
It wasn’t great. It may have been an off night. Food really needs to improve. It’s a shame as the pub is quite nice. The staff were polite.
Lovely little village pub with a good selection of alcohol including Neck Oil on draught which is always a winner for me. Haven't tried the food but will certainly be back to try it next time.
We had a Sunday lunch with two adults and two children. We had the roasts - vegetarian, chicken and two kids beef. Our plates were clean at the end. We will be coming back again for our Sunday roast.
We had a great pint, food and warm evening and made very welcome owner and staff. Thank you very much
