We are less than a minutes walk from the town centre and its amenities, and no more than a couple of minutes walk from the Brecon Canal Basin, which is a popular location for hikers and bikers and the home of Theatr Brycheiniog. Opposite us, you’ll find the newly refurbished Brecknock Museum, which will be opening soon and sure to be one of the finest in Wales. This was a delightful meal.I loved the burger… succulent and flavoursome! The texture of the chips was ideal, a wonderful balance of soft and crunchy. The onion rings were great. I particularly liked the presentation of the food going the extra mile which added to the overall experience. Excellent customer service and I really enjoyed being here. Thank you.
Me and my partner had an exceptional Valentine's Day meal in the evening on 14th Feb, when I originally rang to book it they said they were unsure about doing a Valentine's Day special with the amount of times they've had to shut and reopen in the lockdowns but when we walked in after the booking on the phone it was a really nice surprise to see inside decorations in red for Valentine's Day and we were very impressed with the staff and quality of the food given to us. If anyone does think about going out for a Valentine's Day meal in Brecon, I would definitely recommend The Bank pub on the corner before the museum at the front end of the town. Keep it up to all the staff and team after our exceptional experience with everything we would be returning again soon. All the best from Josh. Xx
Fantastic Sunday lunch beautifully cooked very well presented, extremely tasty and plentiful. Staff very friendly and welcoming and service was second to none we will be definitely returning here again thank you
If you're happy to pay £7.50 for soup which by the way, has probably the same amount of content you get from a can of coke, then this is the place. The food is good, I'd say a solid 6/10. Not a real big hit on flavour and portion sizes don't really add up with the price given. Definitely not living up to the 2022 standard of food. We had a mid size party attending and the bill was around the £200 mark. This place is also dog friendly.
We had a really nice meal here, it was quite quiet, but it was 4pm so between lunch and dinner. Also had a really good pint too 'Offshore' from Sharps Brewery.
Huge, traditional looking pub in the centre of Brecon. There was only one staff member working on the front so service was a little slower, but very friendly. Coffee & dessert were tasty
A group of 9 of us stayed for a meal and we were all very happy with our food. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food all came out after a short wait but was all together and was hot. There was one error with one of the meals but it was rectified very quickly. I had the vegetarian option mushroom Wellington and it was excellent. Not a very wide selection of ales but there are 3 largers that I could see, quite a big list of wines as well as cocktails. We would definitely go back. Hand sanitiser at the entrance but other then that it's all back to pre-covid conditions. A comfortable, warm and friendly environment.
Great atmosphere. Nice friendly staff. Our meals were generous and hot. Chips are different bit fatty /greasy for my liking.. Good basic pub grub Vegetarian options: Yes there was "a "vegetarian option. Kid-friendliness: Allow children and dogs.
Right in the heart of Brecon, near the high street, this is a fantastic restaurant with lovely staff. Good track and trace setup. Food is on the expensive side, but creative and delicious. The Welsh lamb chops came with a brilliant flavoursome red wine sauce. It went well with the potatoes and cherry tomato . The chicken korma curry was rich and gravy had strong sweet and flavours of spices coming across the whole dish. Can not fault it.
First time visiting Breacon, we ended up at The Bank Bar without a booking and Sam got us in, the food was an absolute delight, garlic mushrooms ,chicken dinner, lamb chops dinner with sticky toffee pudding after,,was all freshly cooked and just so tasty, can highly recommend, the staff were just so friendly with Sam especially taking care of us..will definitely be visiting Breacon and The Bank Bar again
