Really great Irish bar, Guinness is good and flows well, Very busy on Saturday afternoon with good atmosphere but I imagine could be just as great on a quiet weekday afternoonService: 5/5
My buddy, a local Londoner brought me here and I’m glad he did. They only had Guinness and Peroni on the taps that night, but the bartender who broke that news to me was such a stunning Irish beauty that I literally forgot to be disappointed. Long, narrow bar, clean restrooms, amazing back patio area to hang out. Rustic and authentic, would definitely enjoy a pint here in the future.
Stumbled across this pub on a recent trip to London . Amazing atmosphere, exceptional service and staff so friendly , taking time to recommend eateries in the area . Not a big fan of Guinness myself but my husband said the pints were ‘Unreal’ .Service: 5/5
I have been on my Guinness Tour and this place delivers everytime - the Guinness is super fresh and tasty - I identified 4 venues in London and 3 of them are very good. This place plays great music to boot - good bar staff are in now with Ethan taking a lead role - and it will only get better - in my Top 2 in London !Food: 5/5
Absolutely a London favourite. Great Guinness, beautiful interior and even better garden, covered and heated when it rains, beauty in the sun. Friendly staff and good service. No complaints.
Excellent Guinness and smoking area. Would recommendFood: 5/5
Simply the best pint of Guinness I ever had. They are specialists. This place is a must visit!Service: 5/5
Popped in for a Guinness after lots of recommendations to visit if I'm ever in the area. It's a long, thin pub with a covered garden out the back. Great service and atmosphere.Service: 5/5
The owner of this place needs a slap. What a tool. Took possibly best pub in London despite being more and more rammed over the last year or so and has run it into the ground with some crap decisions. Guinness is watery and dull, which is a spectacular fall from grace, when it used to be best outside of IrelandService: 4/5
The Auld Shag is my local. Which is why what I'm about to say pains me so... It's no longer the best Guinness in London, not even the best Guinness in Stoke Newington. I can think of 2 better pints in the local vacinity, at least! With the old bar staff, it was fantastic, but there's no love in it anymore. I'm regularly served a sour pint that's flatter than a mashed cat, with bubbles adorning the top. I can't knock the pub for its atmosphere, but they need to buck their ideas up if they want to reclaim the accolade of 'the best Guinness in London' again
