Made a location based choice to visit as it's very close to the Premier Inn and it wasn't clear if their restaurant was open during our stay possibly renovation works. Generally a good choice - good food selection and food was lovely. Portions a little on the small side but for the price, it is reasonable and it was actually preferably to pubs that serve massive portions that are only finished with difficulty and leave you feeling uncomfortable. I would advise booking if you can we couldn't as we were travelling and didn't have a definite arrival time. We almost left as the only non-reserved seating was next to extremely loud speakers, games provision darts and pool and multiple TVs showing sports. However when we asked if there definitely weren't non-reserved tables in quieter areas, staff turned the speakers off for us. Ordering food all seems to be done via an app now though presume you can also order at the bar too. Drinks service was immediate and they let us know food could be a 30-45 minute wait. Frustratingly that information isn't available before ordering and paying on the app so it's not possible to make an informed choice, but nice for staff to tell us, and it turned out to be an overestimation and food arrived much quicker. Toilets seemed decent and there's a toilet in the baby change facility which is always very helpful!! The car park layout needs a rethink though. Disabled spaces are quite a long way from the entrance across the car park - there's parking much closer adjacent to the entrance that would be more suitable for disabled access and disabled spaces should be moved there. Parking: Good amount of parking but if it was very busy I could see this getting full. Disabled spaces not adjacent to the building so consider not parking in the designated spaces if you're not a wheelchair user e.g. are using walking frame/crutches, struggle to walk far, or just need to be closer. Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly. Lots of high chairs. Baby change located in the disabled toilet so there's actually a toilet in the same room for parents! Surprisingly uncommon! Staff happy to accommodate kids and there was a children's menu which we didn't use. Great views out of some windows at the adjacent ring road and lots of ambulances to see just round the corner from the hospital which pleased a car obsessed toddler. Children aren't allowed to use the pool table. Wheelchair accessibility: I believe it's largely flat throughout from the car park into the restaurant/bar and toilets. Don't think there's any steps. There are steps at the rear access so if you're arriving "on foot" without a car you'll still want to arrive and leave through the car park.
Randomly stopped here was pleasantly surprised the meal was alright for a chain , also the staff were friendlyFood: 4/5
As a paying customer I expect to order what I recieved. And when I spoke with your duty manager, he agreed your menu is grammatically incorrect and has appealed a change… we are still waiting the change. Can you at least make your menu state the facts and exact ingredients in the meals… especially when some people could have allergies and you aren’t ensuring your reaching customer satisfaction
What an absolutely great place to visit. we went during the day, and it was still pretty busy we didn't book, but i would definitely recommend booking if you require food at busy times evening and weekend. Situated on the outskirts of Derby city centre off a busy main road if you blink you may miss it, it holds a medium car park there is street parking but only in the evening so be carefull of parking restrictions This pub is a part of the sizzling chain, the menu is simple but loads of choose from, from steak to burgers smaller bites etc, they have a sizzling app which i would definitely download it you get offers and rewards. The food was lovely and the staff gave great customer service. The entrance is wheelchair friendly, i would definitely go again, well done, guys, keep up the good work
Went for a steak with the mrs and very happy with the place. Chef was awesome steak cooked perfectly on both meals, staff are all very friendly place is nice and comfortable also. Will come again, refurb has worked wonders Food: 5/5
Went out for a late dinner, service was spot on wonderful staff. Food was amazing couldn’t fault any of it, compliments to the chefs. Waiting on staff very courteous. Food came out quick. Large range of meals to choose from and the kids menu is brilliant too!! Highchairs were clean so were the tables and the toilets. Wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend. Would go again and again. Very good value for money. Kid-friendliness: Brilliant for children as it offers a good menu at good prices, high chairs are clean
Had tea and chips, so I can't say about the beer. It looks clean and tidy with an appealing menu. Dogs are only allowed in the bar area - see photos - no doggy treats supplied. I don't know how this works when the pool players are there!!! The carpark needs tidying up, especially on the left by the fence under the trees. Outside seating area looks great.
Popped in for a quick lunch with my mum, I ordered the chicken gyros wrap and a side of cheesy chips. Food came fairly quickly. My wrap was absolutely drenched in 'hot sauce' more like sweet chilli when I picked it up to eat it the sauce was all over my fingers and dripping out the other end. I wasn't expecting much from a ding ding place but that was ridiculous
A good pub this. However, they missed 5 stars as we booked the Xmas menu online, a few days in advance. They didn't have half of this menu when they rang us 1 hour before we were booked. Just went to the bar to set up a tab, order drinks as they had the pre order. We had timed or visit nicely before the inundation. Brie wedges were nice, Korean chicken goujons good, steak lovely and hot if a teeny bit tough, onions soo much better than the flaming grill alternative. My wife's festive burger was fabulous, taking the best festive burger crown at this price point. I love a Sundae, even on a Thursdae, apologies to Niven and Pournelle for stealing there gag. The Cadburys one substitute on the festive menu was a good egg, the salted apple crumble was well average. Have to compliment the team who worked their socks off, and extremely efficient service from the kitchen too. Many thanks for a great value night out
Had a lovely meal as always, I love the crispy chilli beef! Staff were very friendly and helpful, my only criticism was how small the ice cream sundae was for the price £4.60 and the honeycomb was missing. Definitely be back
