Called in on our way back from Stonehenge, had tried numerous places and was struggling to find a pub serving food!! This was a last resort as we very rarely stop at pubs that are not dog friendly, so avoid the Beefeater group in its entirety. The staff were very friendly and service was good, The food choose on the menu was excellent. We had salmon and rice and lasagne both were excellent. Would be 5 stars if they were dog friendly.
We went there twice, both on early Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not busy, but it was not easy to get waitress's attention for services. In one occasion, it took approx 45 mins for serving steaks and another 30 mins for serving the dessert. I was at one point thinking they've forgotten our order. Speed of service has let us down. In terms of food quality, their steaks were cooked as asked in medium rare. Sirloin steaks were tasted much better than Beefeater in Abingdon. The fillet steak didn't look like the traditional thick cut which I used to eat, Although it tasted good, but I genuinely didn't think it's a fillet steak. Overall experience is good, and I am happy to recommend and will re-visit.
It's actually food wise a really nice and enjoyable place.. Don't understand why so many chained outlets of beef eater seem to be constantly out of food, but staying in the hotel next door it was convenient and easy to get to.. Staff friendly and approachable, but what let's this place down is the facilities.. The toilets stink of stale urine and did all the time I stayed at the hotel.. It appears to be kept in horrid conditions so I'd advise own hand sanitiser be kept for afterwards.. Other than that pretty good food.
Standard customer service 5/10 could have been improved by regular check if the food was okay or not , food presentation 7/10 space to improve there , atmosphere 8/10 , taste of the product 8/10 value for money 7/10 I hope you guys can smash the user experience next random visit by me
Booked in here for a Christmas meal, there is a decent carpark, staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Our party was seated across 2 tables which wasn’t ideal but I understand why they had to do that with the size of our party. The food was standard fare for this type of place, perfectly fine and my chicken burger was very good. The festive gravy was also excellent. There was a slight issue with the sides that only came out once we had actually finished our mains. Desserts were good I had the cherry sundae recommend it. We also got a good deal where one of the courses was free and they did an NHS/Forces discount too so all in all a great deal. Based on this experience for cheap good food I would recommend.
The food was good, but the service was absolutely shocking. Literally watching staff use their mobiles while not taking your order. Bar even won't take your order. Presumed manager proclaiming understaffed but definitely poorly managed. Staff seemed to have no direction. Apparently ran out of wine glasses! So served wine in a brandy / half pint glass
Not very impressed. Staff were, on the whole, good, and the buffet breakfast was mostly good. In the evening we had dinner and spent £33 on two meals and two soft drinks. The coke tasted like it was made up from cheap powder. The service was incredibly slow even though the restaurant was very quiet. My £15 meal was so small I was starving afterwards. The prawns were really tough and seemed glued to the skewers. Filling up on the salad wasn't an option with the tiny scatter of rocket. My son asked for a burger without chips or slaw, and it duly came as asked, but it looked rather ridiculous still served on a huge dinner plate instead of a smaller one. I know the place wasn't obliged to make his meal cheaper because he didn't want the sides, but it made the overall price more galling in light of our experience.
We went here with the intention of dining at a restaurant for a birthday that was not overly expensive. The food was excellent; not just my meal I had a halloumi burger, everybody commented on how delicious it was. There was lots of space where we sat too which is a bonus, and the prices were okay. The only reason that this is not five star is because the service was not the best. When we entered it was quite busy, so it was expected the orders may take a while, but even with this is mind, it took a very long time for our meals and drinks. On top of this, our waitress did not check if we were happy and did not come to us when we were ready/ for drink refills despite us waiting - we had to call them over. Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian myself, there were multiple options for my meal. I ended up having a halloumi burger, which was nice and a great meat alternative. Kid-friendliness: They had a specific kids menu and gave an activity sheet to the younger children. Parking: There are several parking spots right outside. They were mostly full when we arrived for dinner, but there were still some spaces available. Wheelchair accessibility: The building is very wheelchair friendly - my Grandad who struggles to walk and needs a walker had absolutely no issues.
We generally enjoyed our meal and the waiting staff were polite and friendly. Food and drink were of good quality and portions were good sized.
Super helpful staff at the bar and reception, swift service and loads of choice of food. I went for the steak and it was amazing! Definitely recommend.
