Lovely stay last month while attending an event at the P&J. Very close to the venue, only a 30 minute walk. Reception area and restaurant have been beautifully refurbished. Staff were all lovely and very attentive. We had dinner in the restaurant, our meals were very prompt and the quality was excellent, also good value. Same for the buffet breakfast! Room was spacious and clean and bedding fresh. Pleasant stay, will definitely be back!
Nipped in for a drink and to check the place out as we live across the road and heard the hotel was open again under new management. Staff very friendly, felt very welcome, especially by Lauren on the bar. Greeted so pleasantly and went above and beyond, showing us menus when unsure if we were having food and explaining specials etc, showing directly to where toilets were rather than just pointing and offering options for tabs. Also very nice generally and engaging in chat. Place looks lovely and prices standard. Definitely be back!!!
Work booking.nHotel recently reopened with new owners, lobby has been upgraded.nRooms a bit dated but clean and very comfortable.nDinner was excellent!nBreakfast was a big let down - bacon under cooked, tattie scones rubbery and fruit was dry.nDespite poor Breakfasts we will be booking again.
Extremely unhappy no heating system working in room absolutely freezing all night BAD DRAUGHT IN ROOM my daughter slept with a coat and un easy waking up all night because of temp. it’s colder in room then rest of hotel. Duty staff said manager last night said the heating must be broke in room, but Owner Chris very rude said that he set up baby’s cot & temp was perfectly fine, came here for a holiday all the way from Ireland extremely dissatisfied very disappointed with this stay I recommend to NOT BOOK AS YOU WILL BE FREEZING COLD ALL NIGHT !!! came down to reception at 11pm for room change was provided with a plug In heater! Then had to go back down at 12.15 as the room was still freezing & had to beg for a quilt which guy brought up about 25 mins later 8 months pregnant up all night with the cold. First hotel I’ve heard of that they turned off heat in Scotland as it’s never overly warm this side of the world !! Booked for two nights search at 11 last night for nearby hotel as this is ridiculous extremely unhappy with hotel also not overly very clean. Didn’t even use shower/ bath in room as it was too cold to do so.
Amazing hotel, would highly recommend.nWe stayed in April 2024 for a concert at TECA. Great location for this and we were able to walk back to the hotel afterwards. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful from arrival to check out, nothing was too much trouble. The bar restaurant and lobby areas had a lovely atmosphere, very relaxing to sit in with a drink. The restaurant menu was good for choice and the food was all really tasty and well presented. We requested adjoining bedrooms which was not a problem, they were spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and a really comfy bed. Couldn’t fault our stay, will look forward to staying again.
